Most of the MSM in general leans to the left of the ideological spectrum, but MSNBC was once proud to be the direct media arm of the Democrat Party itself. Now they have seem to have become mild
Of course, they still have their liberal media personalities on the air just like Sean Hannity is the conservative bulwark at FoxNews but even there they are not so agressive as their counterparts on CNN, who once was considered the moderate (slightly less outright liberal) network against a backdrop of so called 'divisive' media entities.
Now CNN has taken the mantel from MSNBC as the uber liberal network and has run with it starting this past election cycle. They were the most aggressive against Trump than any other network out there. I remember when CNN ran an instant factcheck on live Trump speeches for awhile but didn't do the same when Hillary spoke on live tv, for example. MSNBC coverage of election while still liberal wasn't so strident in my opinion
Is MSNBC learning there has to be balance no matter their personal opinions? Or that CNN is wilder and crazier than MSNBC had been at its zenith?

I think it’s real. Maybe they figured out that people don’t want hard core left wing dogma day in and day out.
I predicted that when Comcast bought NBC they would pull MS into the middle of the road and try to eat into the market leader, Fox. At the C level there’s a lot less motivation around political ideology than aroud bonuses and the quarter-over-quarter growth that creates them.
The template could not be more clear. Liberal talk fails every time it’s tried. Fair and Balanced has broadest appeal (whether or not you feel FNC is or isn’t).
MSNBC’s ratings are in the toilet because of being so liberal. The almighty dollar can change things quickly.
Comcast has more regulatory exposure than CNN.
It’s time to dial back the anti-Trump politics.
MSNBC found out that being an Obamabot/Clinton network was not good for its long term heath and survival. They realize they will have to live with Trump for the next eight years and with a Democrat Party that is just about dead politically and, is dyng more with each passing day!!!
As for CNN...they are dead as a media provider...other then the babble they spurt out everyday...while they have no viewers!!!
Yes, I think we’re seeing a shift where MSNBC is staking out a more moderate position, and CNN is further to the left. Part of it is probably that MSNBC was probably always a bit more willing to expose Clinton’s flaws either from the left or the right, whereas CNN was completely in the tank for her.
They are just resting, licking their wound.
If those two aren’t bumping uglies, then I’ll eat Bart Simpson’s shorts.
They were herded there. They refuse to come center and have been pushed further and further left from encroachment from the right.
Why would you be watching either CNN or MSNBC? After what they have done to Trump, why give them the ratings? How can you believe anything you hear on those networks? Fox Business News or Fox News only.
The Lefty News budget just isn’t what it used to be.

I watched Joe and Mika for some reason for a few minutes yesterday morning and they were pretty much going after CNN (they had Preibus on as a guest).
Usually those two networks are like birds-in-a-feather
I don’t know why CNN is always shown at all airports. I imagine that the FAA or TSA or some such agency wants CNN to be shown.
I would love it if the Chief Executive were to issue an edict: “No CNN at airports”. It would help them whither away faster.
In 2012 Ann Coulter started a crowd shout-out at the RNC national convention against NBC. Whenever bias in the media was mentioned on the stage, the crowd chanted “NBC....NBC....”
My guess, is that NBC finally got the point that they were limiting their audience by having such a left-leaning tilt .... and market, rather than politics pushed them to attempt to be more main stream, or at least somewhat more.
Hmmmmmm......what are you noticing in terms of MSNBC becoming less wack-job leftist? After all, MSNBC is the network of The Tingler Chris Matthews and Bullus Dykus Rachel Maddow. MSNBC has also started using disgraced liar/fraud Brian Williams again. That’s enough information for me to never watch MSNBC. I may be wrong, but I don’t see MSNBC being any more mild than CNN.
