I see that China is supplying the fentanyl that’s lacing the Mexican heroin that’s killing thousands of Americans. I just had an old friend OD and die on that **** last month. I have to wonder how many more will have to die before America says enough and if it will be too late by then. and of course there’s the $367 billion trade deficit with China. This is why we need to be unwavering in our commitment to the six assurances and have no official comment regarding a one China policy. China is not our buddy and conflict is inevitable.
The sound of a country panicking.
Sounds real similar to the Democrats in Congress and the mainstream media and most of Europe and Hollywood types and
It’s hard to get real numbers on this but it definitely appears that the majority of our exports to Mexico are machines, components, and materials for car parts which ultimately get shipped back to the Unites States and put into cars which later get bumper stickers that say “Proudly Made in the USA”.
I get it. They’re going to call all of their citizens home thereby paralyzing our country.
What will we do?
Mexico is on the path to becoming a failed state within the next ten years. We must be prepared to occupy and reconstruct the country even without the preliminary of defeating them in war.
Mexico can absorb job losses better than the US as their standard of living is much less than the United States.
Essentially, if you are unemployed in the United States, you are pushed to the margins of society, the bottom 10%.
If you are unemployed in Mexico, and living in poverty, you are still middle class.
Yup!
A million Gangbanger illegals? Experienced warriors all.
Maybe they are going to pee on the veggies they sell to us. Whoops they already do that.
They could impose a tariff on the American goods they import. They import over $150B/yr of our goods.
Trump is currently only talking about a tax on certain goods manufactured in Mexico and imported to the US. If Mexico retaliates by taxing ALL American imports, it would be a significant escalation. We would need to dissuade them by threatening tariffs on all their agricultural products and Mexican-owned manufacturers in addition to the US, German, and Japanese owned production in Mexico.
Depends completely on what that "$267 billion dollars in goods to Mexico each year" represents... luxuries or absolute necessities.
'Cutting off your nose' time?
More like rolling my eyes and giving up.
I knew you’d give up. I probably shouldn’t have rang your bell so hard. Btw is it Ms. Pill?
Mexico is the richest country in Latin America. Per capita there are more billionaires in Mexico than any other nation in The Western Hemisphere. It also has a wall on it’s southern border with Guatemala. And what have the Mexican people done with their country? Just as I said. They’ve turned it into a corrupt, racist crap hole they can’t run away from fast enough. And were it not for the fact that they are only one of just two countries fortunate to share a border with the United States they would literally be eating each other alive.
As I’ve said here many times, if the Mexican people would put just half the energy into fixing their country that they do into destroying ours then maybe someday Mexico would be a place Mexicans wouldn’t have to run away from.
Excellent summary of the problem, jmac
I have wrestled with this. Standard of living lower...true, so they can handle losses better. Maybe so. But adding millions more to the extremely poor should have some detrimental effect on governing. Mexico has been on the edge for a long time. What will it take to start a revolt down there. It’s a mess.
