Berlin (dpa) – German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday fired back at US president-elect Donald Trump's denunciation of her liberal stance on refugees and his dismissal of the NATO military alliance as "obsolete."
"I think we Europeans hold our destiny in our own hands," she said.
"We know what his position is," Merkel said in response to Trump slamming her refugee policy as a "catastrophic mistake."
"My position is also known," she added.
In an interview with Germany's Bild and the Times of London, Trump also threatened to impose a hefty tax on German carmakers for selling vehicles in the US market that were produced elsewhere and warned that other nations would follow Britain in leaving the European Union.
"We 27 members should stand together," Merkel told reporter in Berlin, arguing that Europe's economic strength and institutions would help it tackle tough problems such as terrorism.

I swear she has the same basic facial structure as Adolf had.
It costs the US well over $100,000 per year for every serviceman stationed in Europe. Merkel can whine and complain but Trump will be having her write a very large check.

We’ll be watching how you handle tough problems like MATH and the immutable effect the importation of a highly fecund set of savages intent on your slaughter will bring about.
Merkel’s going to find out that if you’re going to take on The Donald, you better know you are 100% in the right, and you better be ready to go the distance.
Failure to do so can result in discomfort and unhappiness.

Yes, just like Germany did in WWI and WWII. Europe does so well when they hold their own destiny. I hate to think what their next “destiny” is, and will we once again have to come to their aid? What do you think, Angela Merkel. Or should we just agree with you and next time your necks are in the wringer (which will be all too soon, as you have opened your doors and the floodgates to thousands of Muzzie refugees) we should just quote you back. You told us your destiny was in your own hands. Now live (or die) with it.

I don’t care when they make bad decisions for their country. It’s their call. I do care when they try to hide the results of those decisions and deny anything bad came of them.
One solution would be bypass Germany and work with the sane governments farther East.
Europeans do for now. But if Europe doesn’t change course soon, theocratic Muslims Middle Easterners and North Africans will be choosing Europe’s destiny, regardless of the values and preferences of Europeans.
I don’t know why these politically correct Europeans refuse to believe the demographers’ estimates for a future Muslim majority in many of their countries? Or is it that they think Europe with a majority of foreign Muslims will somehow be similar to Europe as it has been, including in issues of politics, human rights, freedoms for women, economic success, etc.? It’s delusional. Rational people would take a look at the countries these “refugees” have built in the Middle East/North Africa and ask if that’s really what they want for Europe. Of course, those afflicted with fatal altruism don’t bother with rationality.
Germany is choosing genocide by Islam.
