Anti-Trump Activists at UT-Austin (Univ. of Texas) Too Afraid of Campus Carry to Protest Trump
Ammoland ^ | January 22, 2017

Friday afternoon, as college students in other states took to campus quads to protest the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, the campus of the University of Texas at Austin was eerily quiet.

Although the university is home to several activist groups that have publicly denounced the new commander-in-chief, the groups cited the state's almost six-month-old campus carry law as their reason for staying home.

As the inauguration played out in D.C., only a single person was spotted walking across the UT campus in Central Austin. He refused to give his name but identified himself as a professor of thirty years.

"I’m only here because I left my car keys in my office," he said. "I still hope to be long gone before the shooting starts." He glanced nervously around before adding, "I miss the old days, when campus was filled with the sounds of protests and lively debates rather than with the sound of gunfire."

With that, he covered his head with his briefcase and ran for the nearest building.

Working as intended.

Good. Stay home. Miss class. Complain about your grade. File an appeal (denied). Refuse to pay your tuition bill. Get assigned to a collection agency. Refuse to pay the bill. Get a job at Taco Bell. Get fired. Continue to protest...... (repeat). LOSERS: GET A GRIP, GET OVER IT.

An armed society is a polite society. This is an example. Have you noticed that the riots are occurring in gun controlled cities.

Thinking they’re going to gang up and attack any Trump supporter wasn’t going to end well for them. You look at the attacks at the Milo events and how they gang up going after someone and guns are the perfect response to this.

Your link goes to a very dated Ammoland page for Students for Concealed Carry with no such article on the page.

Well, since so many of these Trump protesters are inclined to resort to violence and intimidation (under the guise of free speech), they would be wise to stay in their dormitory safe space knowing that there would be a good chance of a CCW holder exercising their lawful right to defend themselves once accosted. Perfect example of how reasonable gun laws can cause these idiots to think twice.

That’s an old illustration.

The cruise missile rail isn’t shown.

He misses the “old days” when leftist mobs could assault conservatives with no fear of consequences.

Dallas is not gun controlled and had pretty large protests.

At the Milo Yianapolis speaking event at the University of Washington inauguration night, a liberal hate mob attacked one of the Trump supporters and was shot in the stomach.
Police had the sense to let the “shooter” go recognizing it is self defense.
If liberals are “afraid” to protest, it is because they either planned on mob violence against conservatives or think too many of their members will escalate to such under cover of the crowd.
That is a reflection of their violent intentions and desires, not broader society.

They were nice and peaceful where I live ... no riots ... and, of course, that's the whole point of our carry laws.

Kent State had a calming effect on these violent liberal rioters. Nothing like shooting to keep their heads down.

So what? Here in Northern California I am afraid to put a Trump bumper sticker on my car, put a Trump sign on my lawn, or even express my support on Facebook.

These are well founded fears, it is to easy to get my car or property vandalized.

It is us who live in fear from violent liberal nutcases.

It is a well founded fear you have because the protect them. And they know it. One day they will slip up and be where there no police to protect them.....
