“There will be plenty of “servicing” in the field.”

Oh, “you betcha,” as Sarah would say.
The local recruiter gets to "make mission" and the Corps has a new recruit within a few years. Keeping it all in the family, as it were.
Given that their job descriptions are so different (rifleman, machine gunner, mortarman), they won’t even be in the same part of their company, assuming they are in the same company. Rifleman goes into any rifle squad, machine gunner may be in a weapons squad/platoon, and the mortar belongs in the weapons platoon, usually separated from the rest of the company in order to give some stand-off for ranging the mortars. The thing that is certain is they won’t be able to depend on another female so they present a challenge to leadership. I saw it happen in the 70s when the Army decided to integrate women into missile artillery units.
AMEN!!
My wife thought that this was progress, until I explained the logistics of taking a dump in the back of an amtrac.
I believe the ladies of 1/8 are in for a rude awakening.
What a freakin’ mess.
The whole concept of mixing all those young people into one mass group is insane.....good grief is anyone really so naive as to think that this will work????
If she's sleeping with the boys, I bet she never carries her own ruck
I think the MC is making a statement here that if the government insists on women in combat, they will be treated just like male Marines with no special favors. You asked for it, you got it.
Hey - Mac and Harm did it in one JAG episode - pretty good one too!!!
I wonder if Mattis will end this nonsense.
Any gal good to go will earn my respect.
Same way you “take a dump “ in the field. First, get out of your foxhole. If under fire, “hold it” until you can.
Living in the field ain’t much fun, especially when it is raining, cold or someone is shooting at you...or all three at once.
Gender equality! Ain’t that just grand!
Amen. We have a real CinC now. Stop this abomination.
Yes.
When a woman has to relieve herself on the battlefield, the men will have to surround her to protect her from view and just out of instinct.
This is crap.
Get back in the kitchen.
They can take birth control pills to prevent the need for that, but then again, isn’t having some medication essentially the same reason other people aren’t allowed?

Yup. It sure will.
Non-line unit. Out in the desert 30 years ago. My girlfriend was in one platoon, I in another. We made it a point to meet-up at least once a day.
That’s one way to get them off the front lines.
