I, for once, did not drive in this storm.
I had a 3 hour shift tonight, and I called and told them to FORGET IT. (retail store)
The conditions are horrid. whiteouts wind gust overnight will be be 25-50mph.
You remember what I sent you last night?
It isn’t half over yet!
Ohhhhhh....Sis! I’m so glad you checked in and that you didn’t go to work tonight! It’s totally NOT worth risking your life for! I do remember, and I was hoping that they were exaggerating! Hope you can just hunker down till it blows over and the snow plows have a chance to clean those horrible roads up! ((((hugs)))
Thanks! Glad you can see it. It’s one of my “emojis” that are part of my laptop system. LOL!
Mr B laid down the law, and said :You are not going ANYWHERE tonight!”
Here’s a link with pics and various stories about what we are facing:
Mary Lou, you all snug and warm?
I wondered where you were getting those lil things.
He is supposed to work tomorrow, but I don’t think he’ll be able to get out of the driveway!
I don’t want him to have to travel in that!
“Bess” (the kitchen wood stove) has gotten us through many a winter storm!
She’s all fired up and crackling merrily away!
Nice and cozy, Sis!
No worries!
*HUG*
Sounds lovely...and no, he doesn’t need to get out! I doubt if anyone will be needing him anyway. Hope everyone stays off the roads and stays safe!
You just need your kitty curled up close to the stove. *sniff*
Good evening, radu...hope you’ve had a pleasant day and that rain is in the offing.
When does corn get planted?
radu.....#50!!
That’s a pretty cool setup. I kept wondering where you were getting them.
Oh my, MsB...I am so glad you chose to sit it out at home. It is not worth the risk. ((HUGS))
WOW! Glad you stayed home tonight. The little I’ve seen of the conditions up there aren’t anything to sneeze at. A three-hour shift in retail isn’t worth taking the chances. We’d rather have you safe and sound.
I can only see some of them....
This post has 2 rectangles and a computer graphic.
That was in Chrome.....now in IE I see a pilgrim lady, a rectangle, and a computer.
Aw, thanks Radu!
*HUG*
These are VERY dangerous conditions to be out in,
especially if you break down somewhere or go off the roads.
I’ll probably catch Heck for not going in, but I don’t care!
You should see it now, the snow is coming down in two different directions, and the wind is starting to howl!
Seeing your post reminded me I hadn’t dumped the rain gauge yet. I do our readings midnight to midnight. We got a whoppin’ .05 of an inch today. woo. Now it’s just chilly and windy out there.
We still have a ways to go before any planting begins around here. Can’t plant until the ground’s warm enough and will stay warm.
Yes, I think some of them “translate” better than others. The graphic is a girl behind an Apple laptop. I guess Microsoft doesn’t want to share that little bit of advertising. LOL!
A pilgram lady! LOL! That’s funny!
