Wednesday afternoon Breitbart released a report in which a William Binney, a former highly placed NSA official turned whistleblower, confirmed that the NSA is spying of President Trump. Binney was a key component to building the NSA’s surveillance program before resigning from the agency in 2001 after over 30 years of service.

Binney’s probably right, but he’s associated with Ray McGovern at Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), which has a questionable track record, so I’d want to see some confirmation from a reliable source. Trump should look into this allegation.

NSA is primarily a military agency. You only hear about the much smaller civilian side. Defunding it would cripple the US military, leaving it blind and deaf. Is that what you want?

A lot of us on FR served in the Army Security Agency (ASA); the Naval Security Group (NSGP); and the Air Force Security Service (AFSS)--armed force's "versions" of NSA. President Trump should re-launch these now-defunct (I think) orgs. and split up NSA's massive military resources between them. Having done this, Trump should then defund the NSA.
