On this weekends broadcast Fox News Sunday, House Freedom Caucus vice chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) said the Freedom Caucus did the country a favor when they refused to support the House Republican health care bill.
Jordan said, Lets get back to work and do what we told the voters we would do. Remember this bill 17 percent of the country approved of this bill. Maybe the fact that we opposed it, we did that country a favor because this bill didnt repeal Obamacare. This bill didnt do what we told the American people we would do. Lets be responsible, get back to work and do what we told the American people what we were going to accomplish which is repeal Obamacare and replace it with a patient-centered health care program.

Me too. And you’re right
Getting those errors like crazy here on FR in the last 15 or so minutes too.
Did you see their (HFC) press statement? A bill passed and was approved to repeal Obamacare the last year of Obama Admin. All Republicans voted for it.
Should tell you something.
I am sure he would have been happy w rinocare marching veterans to the VA gulag. Thank You freedom Caucus from every veteran I have talked to on the horror oF the management amendment that was in this pass it to know what’s in it bill.
Got some sort of server error - reloaded and thing proceeded normally.
First it was Repeal. Then it was Repeal and Replace. Finally, it was just Replace.
Now it is Replace Ryan ...
Im not going to lie, Im glad Ryans insult of a bill got shot down too. Now lets getr done.
*************
When something fails, and you’re the person who is largely responsible for it, the best thing you can do is to immediately start work on repairing the damage. Don’t go on recess; stay on the job, find solutions, and get’r done. As with most disasters, there are usually multiple factors, or an event cascade, that caused it. This happened with the AHCA. Do the forensics and find a way forward to fix it. WE cannot afford not to.
It's important to do a full repeal of Obamacare so that it can't be cited as law. It must be removed from the statutes. If that means that Obamacare continues its destruction, so be it. My insurance is completely private through both of my employers. I pay only $65 a month.
At this point, as we understand more about the structure of affordable health care involving competition, a bill should be readily available. The problem is found in the political power of the various outside forces. Ryancare was made for the lobbies of the insurance and providers, the consumer (you and I) be damned. In today’s world of cronyism, competition is a dirty word.
Uniting with the whole of the Democratic party.
(1) guaranteeing health care coverage to everyone in the USA, or
(2) conservative principles about the constitutional role of government.
Can't have both.
I choose (2).
Freedom Caucus lied to Trump. Trump asked what concessions they wanted to get this done. Trump got the concessions they wanted. Then the Freedom Caucus voted no.
As far as I can see, that "problem" is that a majority of the American people want something that (a) the Constitution does not guarantee to them, and which (b) we could not afford even if it did.
I'm ready to work on that problem. But we have to start by explaining to that majority why they are wrong.
Yep.
How many times have they tried to get Amnesty through?
I’ve lost count.
So if they think I’m just going to accept one try on repeal and then oh well we can’t do it... better think again, mofos.
Looks to me like the Freedom Caucus did not ask for a simple repeal then.
It tells me that the GOP leadership is not, and never was, serious about repealing Obamunism.
Jim Jordan has tried to resubmit the 2015 “REPEAL ONLY” bill but it’s locked and held hostage in a committee.
pls forward Jim Jordan’s perfect plan to me including how to get from here to there. i definitely missed seeing it.

You’re right about lack of focus and motivation.
Some excuses given for being a ‘no’.
The two most popular excuses on the list: lowering premiums, and -— saving (!) Medicaid expansion (!)-— two directly conflicting platforms, since one supports the other.
I don’t know how the Congress talks a free market insurance company into slashing their prices when there’s a whole world besides us out there to sell to. Or, why Congress would even try if rates are going to be negotiated state by state. Maybe that is why there were tax credits built in? But building those in caused others to term the plan a ‘entitlement program’ - because there were tax credits! Can’t win for losing I guess.
Here we go:
Wanted Something (3): Steve Pearce - ‘need to remove essential benefits (we did)
Trent Franks - ‘do away with insurance industry regs (senate???)
Scott DesJarlis - ‘won’t curb Medicaid expansion before 2018 (lame)
Never for it (5): Justin NeverTrump Amash, Thomas Garrett, Leonard Lance, Ken Buck, Thomas Masse
No firm support (5): Rob Whitman, Ted Yoho, Brian Fitzpatrick, Jamie Herrera Buetler, Scott Perry
Not a “Repeal Only” (4): Mo Brooks, Andy Biggs, Mark Sanford, Rick Crawford
“Too Fast” (3): Walter Jones, David Joyce, David Young
“Lower/control Premiums” (9): Ron DeSantes, David Joyce, Loui Gohmert, Ted Budd, Rod Blum, Andy Harris, Raul Labrador, Glenn Thompson, Charlie Dent
“Our Medic-aid people!” (7): Daniel ‘Medicaid beds in Florida’ Webster, Rodney Frelinhuysen, Chris Smith, John Katko, Peter ‘people will fall thru the cracks’ King, Daniel ‘grave concerns for hospitals’ Donovan, Ileana ‘millions uninsured!’ Ros-Lehtinen
Misc reasons (4):
Paul ‘we legislate, not the President’ Gozar (well, nanner nanner to you, too, Paul)
Mark ‘I’ll stand with the People’ Meadows
Jody ‘it’s an entitlement program’ Hice
Frank ‘not better than Zerocare’ LoBiondo

I couldn't keep up with the debate toward the end, especially regarding who was asking for what etc.
What concessions did the FC double-cross the president on?
