J Scott Armstrong: Fewer Than 1 Percent Of Papers in Scientific Journals Follow Scientific Method
Breitbart ^ | 3-28-17 | Allum Bokhari

Posted on 03/29/2017 6:24:51 PM PDT by DeweyCA

Fewer than 1 percent of papers published in scientific journals follow the scientific method, according to research by Wharton School professor and forecasting expert J. Scott Armstrong.

Professor Armstrong, who co-founded the peer-reviewed Journal of Forecasting in 1982 and the International Journal of Forecasting in 1985, made the claim in a presentation about what he considers to be “alarmism” from forecasters over man-made climate change.

Now it looks like maybe, one tenth of one percent follow the scientific method” said Armstrong in his presentation, which can be watched in full below. “People just don’t do it.”

Science has been so politicized by Leftists that it has made it almost impossible to trust any "scientific finding." Scientists are dependent on getting government grants, and they will skew their tests to obtain the desired results, so that they can continue to get more funding. This is especially true in the global warming area. See much more specific information about this problem in the article.

I posted a while back about so called scientists and had several here on FR attack me. My post was about detesting scientists and the utter lack of proof and other BS posted by them.

I am amazed by the amount of crap that passes for scientific research nowadays. Yesterday, I heard on Canadian radio (I live near the border), that researchers have ‘discovered’ that massage helps the circulation of blood in people who are NOT athletic. Shocking. Just plain shocking. Then you will hear that cow farts cause global warming. I mean Lewis Carroll would not write this nonsense. It would be funny, only the taxpayers are footing the bill.

Every institution, every university (except Hillsdale) was taken over by the Cultural Marxists and control was completed by the 1970s.

They controlled every mainline church, newspaper, radio show—every “idea” that could be promoted in the mainstream “News” was censored by Marxists, because the Marxists knew to control Words and the information (history/textbooks/newspapers/magazines/art/culture), they could actually have Mind Control over the masses and flip Good into Evil and Evil into Good (Vice will create slaves only).

That is why there is “cognitive dissonance” (Yuri Bezmenov) in anyone who hears the “Truth” today——just emotions flood the person so they are incapable of mature critical thinking. They remain puerile and ignorant for life after 12 or more years of brainwashing, since they can’t stand debate of ideas (as children the Socratic Method and Aristotelian Logic was erased by the communist John Dewey), so that the masses had “tribal” “group-(non)-think” minds only. Dumb ignorant morons (snowflakes).

All to erase Christian Worldview, that which created the Age of Reason and minds like Newton and the Founders and abstract “thinking”...so we just have idiots now, who are easily controlled by rhetoric (emotions) by the elites/newspapers, etc. No ability to “think” for self-—all agency was wiped out of the little boys esp. if they were put on mind altering drugs in skools, if they showed any masculine characteristics. Got to emasculate (and homosexualize) the little boys-—create puerile narcissists like in Germany-—males who allow their women, girls and little boys to be raped by the muslims as they are worried about their gay “pride” parades. Homosexuality was created in Germany in the 1800s to normalize pederasty again, like in the homosexual Spartan/Samurai cultures and in today’s Afghani cultures. Vice creates brutal, slave cultures only.

Yep. Scientists have sold their souls for government grants.

I new in the I’d-80s that research was compromised. I worked at a very prestigious hospital on the east coast back then, and a Dr I knew there lost his job. He had FAKED all his research.....and some people were using it to treat their cancer patients. These days I tell all my friends who get upset at some new research revelation, ‘whoever funds the research will get the result they seek. Wait 6 months and a new research project will probably say the exact opposite’.

Pretty hard to follow the scientific method when everything revolves around a political agenda.

Much of University indoctrination is that “the Greater Good” is “God”.

All you need to do to justify anything is to convince yourself that it will result in “the Greater Good”.

I had a young meteorologist tell me that even if the “science” behind “global warming” was not very good, So what?
It only brought about “good” policies, so there was not harm, no foul by pushing “global warming”.

Aka junk science.

This is why saturated fats was turned into a villain. And they pushed transfats as the healthy answer. Junk science.

Then later transfats were found to be worse than saurated fats.

The group CSPI - center for science in the public interest - the scientific equivalent of the ACLU - is largely responsible for promoting junk science in health/nutrition, and spending a lot of money lobbying congress to do so.

Something to scare the living crap out of anybody taking any kind of meds:

What's in Placebos: Who Knows? Analysis of Randomized, Controlled Trials:

Background: No regulations govern placebo composition. The composition of placebos can influence trial outcomes and merits reporting.

Conclusion: Placebos were seldom described in randomized, controlled trials of pills or capsules. Because the nature of the placebo can influence trial outcomes, placebo formulation should be disclosed in reports of placebo-controlled trials.

Translation: when a pharma company does a placebo-controlled trial, you have no idea what they actually mean by "placebo." Unless you know that the placebo is truly neutral (like a sugar pill), you'll have no idea whether the results of the trial are meaningful or not.

Pfft. The Scientific Method is annoying. More papers mean more grant money. The perversion of science is 99% complete.

Agreed! Do we have to mention the climate change “science” which is nothing more than computer models? They can’t accurately predict the weather for tomorrow, but can tell you what will happen in the next 10 or 20 years.

One of my favorites is what scientists can tell you what went on 10 million years ago by just observing a fossil? Or what went on in the universe by something that happened 3 trillion light years ago?

How am I supposed to believe this BS?

It’s all in the overall plan:

Take over the education system, and it’s only the liberal messages that get through.

Take over the media, and it’s only their messages that get through.

Take over (the) science, and they can create any theory and make it credible, and fit their messages and agenda.

Take over the economy, and they can control the message.

Take over the healthcare system, and you will be halfway towards getting your message through.

Take over the entertainment system, and your messages will be represented in every piece of music and in every movie and in every TV set and in all radio stations.

Take over the politics and government entities, and you will have gotten your messages completely through, and you will have gained complete control of the people and country.

It’s not about the science per se, though science is just one piece of the puzzle.

That’s not the problem though; the problem is the scientists are from the dumb half of the class, and vying for easy to get government grants, and grants caused by government tax laws.

Einstein said his method was not deduction, it was intuition followed by induction.

If something is mentioned in the koran it is superfluous and must be destroyed, if something is not mentioned in the koran it is anathema and must be destroyed.

In short, if something happened, was written, or was made after 700 AD it’s gotta go. You’ll learn to love your Arab Masters ...
