Right? The media tries to give the impression of these autonomous robots that run around taking care of all manner of tasks, making mankind irrelevant.
In reality, the robotics that most are speaking about are pick and place. They are set up, programmed and maintained by humans. The jobs shift from menial, low skilled to higher paying programming and electromechanical positions.
Typically you will see AI/autonomous robots on the battlefield first. Fully autonomous robotics and artificial intelligence running around society is a long way off despite all the grandiose claims and media scare of big metallic robots pinching peoples heads off.
Always gotta try to make some sort of sensational story to get folks to say....WTF man. This ain't right.

I hardly noticed....when I pumped my own gas, put my little card into the ATM machine, rang my groceries through at BJs, got one of them answering machines that tells me to press 2 then 4 then 1 then 3 and then waited 10 minutes for an operator.
