I am not opposed to immigration at all. What I am completely opposed to are stupid, sinister, liberal immigration policies that preferentially allow people into our country who hate us, will be a drain on our economy, or both.
If we have immigration, it should be predicated on the likelihood the person is going to be a contributing member of society, be able to accept and conform to our societal norms, and only allow a controlled number of people in.
America is an idea. A set of values. It's not a people.
There are 7.4 billion Americans in the world, they just don't live here yet.
Where did I say America is people not an idea? And where did I say we should let 7.4 billion people in?
Hm. Sorry that reply of mine came across harsh. When I re-read it, it seems brisk, didn’t intend that.
I was using anti immigration rhetoric to make a point.
