Goodbye, Don. My father went to Las Vegas regularly in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s on golf and gambling junkets with his country club pals. Now my father was rather distinctive looking in a sort of blond Germanic Frank Sinatra fashion and Rickles picked up on it and would use him as a foil every time the told man walked into the lounge. This went on for years. RIP, funny man, and thanks for all the Tonight shows.

Rickles was always sure to give Frank credit for helping his career.
There's a clip from the Tonight Show where Frank tells a story about Rickles and what he did to him in a restaurant.

Hysterical stuff.

Asians are nice people, but they burn a lot of shirts.

Italians are fantastic people, really. They can work you over in an alley while singing an opera.

Yeah, I make fun of blacks, and why not? I’m not a black.

He was enlisted Navy during WWII, Johnny Carson, Ed McMahon were both officers. He would joke about that during his routine.

That is such a shame. I was just complimenting him a few weeks ago regarding his appearance on the TV show "Hot in Cleveland". I opined that he didn't look to have aged much since "Kelly's Heroes."
I was pulling for him to keep going. I am sorry to hear that he has died.

As some have said, Rickles was politically incorrect before it was incorrect.
Long Career. Great life. Laughs all around.
RIP Don Rickles.

FoxNews doing a nice montage, on Rickles, now.
Grew up in Queens, went into the Navy....the rest, as they say, is history.

"Bob Newhart and his whore of a wife just lost his best friend."That's how Bob Newhart said Rickles introduced him the first time he took his wife to see Rickles' show.

Such a good movie. One of my favorite scenes is when Rickles tells the card cheat they should count his winnings in the office and orders a nice bottle of champagne.

No silly, the next line in Kelly's Hero's Crap Game asks big Joe (Telly Savalss)after "make a deal", is "maybe the he's a republican?" refering to the loan remaining German tiger tank commander sitting in front of the bank.

Rickles spies Frank Sinatra in a restaurant:
“Hey, Frank, it would mean a lot to me if you’d come over to my table and say hi.”
Frank: “Sure Don”
Frank waits for Don the rejoin the party at his table then gets up, garnering the attention of the whole restaurant. The din of the crowd lessens as he approaches Don’s table.
Frank: Hello Don, good to see you.
Don: “What da f*&ck you doin’ I’m with family here!!”
