Triple murder defendant jumps to his death off courthouse balcony
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A triple murder defendant jumped to his death from a fourth-floor balcony in an Ohio county courthouse Monday, CBS Youngstown affiliate WKBN reports.
Robert Seman landed in the courthouse rotunda. A sheet was put over his body.
In 1947, Frank Rigelsky committed suicide by jumping off a railing -- from the fourth floor -- in the same courthouse where Seman jumped to his death, according to court employees. Rigelsky had been worried about making alimony payments to his estranged wife following his involvement in a car accident, said news reports at the time.
Seman was accused of setting a house in the northeastern Ohio city of Youngstown on fire in March 2015, killing 10-year-old Corinne Gump and her grandparents, Bill and Judy Schmidt. Seman set the home alight because Gump planned to testify against him in a rape case, according to prosecutors.
The trial was scheduled for next week, and Seman was in the courthouse for a status hearing ahead of the trial.
So he’s sort of guilty then yea?
Must be a Lonesome Dove fan! Viva la Blue Duck!!
It’s a start. Saved the tax payers money.
And the ‘problem’ is?
The only problem is someone got to clean up the mess. Otherwise, case closed and filed....no derogatory info.
I feel bad for the janitor who has to wipe up all the seman from the floor.
It’s just common courtesy to not splatter seman all over the place. Or if things get out of hand and you do, then you should clean it up. At least offer a warm washcloth.
Beat me to it. Lol.
Unless it’s on a blue dress.....
What you mentioned is rarely spoken about; the government employees who are assigned to clean that kind of a mess up.
There is probably some exacting method to the clean up,because the coroner still has to examine the remains and give the official cause of death, as if that weren’t already somewhat obvious. My guess is there is high staff turnover in such positions, by OSHAs insistence.
Great reference there, t4texas!
Untill the family is paid millions for wrongful in custody death....
Actually, there are privately owned businesses that specialize in that sort of thing. Crime scene cleanup, etc.
For example, a body lay in a house for a month before people called the police because of the smell, or a shooting in a motel, etc.
They just figured they could go in, put stuff in plastic bags and throw it in the dumpsters, which worked until they had a mattress that had a dead person laying on it until the body had become quite decomposed. They couldn't throw it into the dumpster, it was too big, and then they began finding out about all the rules, regulations, bunny suits, respirators, etc.
I had to just look it up...it was called "Sunshine Cleaning" (now, there's a euphemism...)
See my post at #14!
Well after all, “We don’t rent pigs!”
He courted death...
indeed. since the advent of AIDS, people’s exploded, splattered, and otherwise exposed guts/brains are considered hazardous waste, and can only be handled/cleaned up by trained professionals.
Save a lot of time in transcription ...
Only watched it because it was filmed in Albuquerque, always fun to see familiar sights.
