A game of chess and President Trump is very good at it.

Russians respect strength, they abhor weak leaders.

Ask Russians about Reagan, and they all will tell you they respected him, because he was a real leader.

And Tillerson, unlike Kerry, didn’t feel the need to blab on endlessly to the media about this before it happened. That’s one thing I like about Tillerson — he knows when NOT to talk. Its such a welcome change from Kerry, who felt the need to talk about anything and everything. Kerry looked like a fool. Tillerson has respect (or at least appears to).

I always think about Gorbachev at Reagan's funeral.

That alone tells you what they truly thought of Reagan.

And Tillerson, Mattis, and McMaster round out the team.

I think this is a good sign. Tillerson is not getting the cold shoulder. It tells me that perhaps, just perhaps Putin is willing to hear what we have to say. I’m hoping that as terrible as this gas attack is, it could be an opening we need in order to come to some sort of equitable resolution in Syria.

Lets keep in mind, Putin is expending money and has lost troops in Syria. He doesn’t want an endless war there which is the way it’s looking. Could there be a relaxing of the sanctions for cooperation on Syria? We’ll see...

They made incredible history together. I feel privileged to have witnessed it.

Reagan was a magnificent American, a man of character, honesty, and integrity and I dearly miss him.

Was an honor and a privilege to see him in the White House during my lifetime.

I don’t think there was much if anything to be gained by not meeting with Tillerson.

Or maybe he hand-delivered proof that it was ISIS that had those chemical weapons in Syria. We really don’t know what’s going on. There does seem to be some walking back on certainty that it was Assad who used chemical weapons.

There are still so many benefits to be gained if we can incentivize Russia to work with us as an alley. I continue to hope we can work out something to mutual benefit that sends a chill down the spine of terrorists everywhere.
