Dick Durbin, Tom Perez To 28 Percent Of Dems Who Oppose Abortion: Get In Line Or Get Out
The Daily Caller ^ | 04/23/2017 | Peter Hassan

The 28 percent of Democrats who oppose abortion have no place in the Democratic party, according to two of the party’s leading figures.

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin echoed party chair Tom Perez Sunday in saying that there is no room in the party for dissent on the abortion issue.

“I am committed to women’s rights under the law, reproductive rights certainly, and our party is [committed],” Durbin said in an appearance on CNN. “We’ve made that part of our platform and position for a long, long time. I know within the ranks of the Democratic Party there are those who see that differently on a personal basis, but when it comes to the policy position, I think we need to be clear and unequivocal.”

Didn’t close he or somebody just got done saying that there’s room for everybody in the Democratic Party? Seems that they don’t know their own message. Or someone’s lying

This 28-percent group have moved on...at least nationally. It’s been that way for over twenty years. They might still vote Democrat in local and state elections, but they are not part of the national Democratic Party. You can look at voting map displays going back to the 1990s and where they departed from the national vote trend.

No room for Jeshua, Life, in the Democrat Party. They're all about death.

It is a good start in striving for party purity, Dicky, but I fear that it does not go far enough.
Perhaps a requirement to wear an armband while out in public would be a sign of party purity.
You could have something like “INGSOC” emblazoned on it to openly show your loyalty. Of course, the ruling council should decide the proper dress code.
A uniform would be a nice touch.

It’s about time someone spoke out. Now, let’s talk about Ms. Piglosi and her Catholic values and thoughts on murder of innocents.

The Church has been far too lax on these ‘folks’. When fingers point, a good many should be pointed in that direction.

As the Senate moves on to confirming or denying a multitude of inferior court judges to be appointed by president Trump, this stand might be calculated to make legitimate peremptory rejection of any nominee who has a record of opposing abortion. In other words, the idea is to make legitimate abortion as a litmus test , one that will be applied by at least every Democrat Senator and done so openly.

I think Nasty Pelosi said this week there was room in the party for those who were pro life.

I don't think she said exactly where...

“I’m just glad to see someone in the church take a stand.”

Yeah, but you might want to hold off on the kudos, because the Catholic’s Commie Pope hasn’t been heard from yet. Catholics need to demand this fraud be removed as their “spiritual leader” in much the same fashion as the voters here in the US “removed” Hillary. The ole Pope’s been whiffing off of his little “smoking dangler” for too long.

The Dumbs put forth the worst candidate ever in the history of the world in 2016.

They now have the worst DumbNC chairman ever.

What a bunch of losers.

As a candidate for the Illinois legislature and as a member of the US Congress representing a Springfield district, Richard Durbin was pro-life and pro-gun. Clearly, this hypocritical politician was simply tailoring his politics for what was once a more conservative leaning district.

Once he was securely entrenched in office and contemplating running for statewide offices, his viewpoints evolved.

Oh, yes, Durbin claims to be a Catholic.

Democrats make the case for assisted suicide; just consider it a type of late term abortion, but in this case there are no brains to suck out.

“The Church has been far too lax on these ‘folks’”

So when does the Pope come out for abortion? Knowing the socialist tripe that come out of his mouth, nothing would surprise me.

I believe at a Judgement Day all the abortion worshippers will get to see all of the happy souls of the aborted as a final testament on the way down.

Durbin is a Catholic who was pro life as a representative, who had an "epiphany" when he decided to run for senator.

Durbin's 1982 pro-life letter to his constituents.

"My record of opposition to abortion on demand has been public record for eight years. Long before my opponent moved to this district I worked closely with Springfield Right-toLife and served as master of ceremonies at the annual banquet. As recently as this January 1 I was honored to serve again as Master of Ceremonies at the annual Observance in the State Capitol for the fifth time.

In the same letter, Durbin brags about supporting the "Hatch Federalism Amendment," as endorsed by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. That amendment, which would drive Planned Parenthood right up the wall, stated: A right to abortion is not secured by this Constitution. The Congress and the several STates shall have concurrent power to restrict and prohibit abortions. Provided, That a provision of law of a state which is more restrictive than a conflicting provision of a law of Congress shall govern.

Durbin concludes his letter with this plea: "I would appreciate it if you would share this message with friends who believe that abortion on demand must end in this nation."

These guys are brilliant. They’ve lost 1000+ seats in the last few elections and lost the majority in federal house and senate and Hillary lost to Trump.

And they determined the problem is there are too many people in the party so they should kick a few more out.

They’re probably right that it will make GOTV efforts easier with those who are left in the party. But they are failing at basic math again. A higher percentage turnout of a smaller number of voters doesn’t win if it isn’t a majority.

This could turn out to be the beginning of the end of the party of death and rich people. Young people are finding abortion less and less attractive, Catholics have already started to recognize the Democrats for what they are; and others who have voted for them are beginning to die off.
This doesn’t guarantee the stupid party will gain in the long run, but it does seal the Democrats out of power for a few generations.
