Schlussel is a lawyer herself (or at least, she passed the bar, not sure if her license is active). Don’t think she relished the idea of going against the likes of Joe DiGenova in court.
Hannity handled this very well. Schlussel thought he’d cave and Sean (or FNC) would stroke her a big check to go away. Hannity brought out the big guns and blew her away. A lesson for other conservatives in the media.
I also think Sean was sending a message to the younger Murdochs as well. He’s not cut from the same cloth as O’Reilly and dismissing him for anything short of poor ratings (a very unlikely scenario) and they will have a fight on their hands.
