Looks Like Trump Is Caving on Funding the Wall
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 04/25/2017 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: I’m not happy to have to pass this on. I’m very, very troubled to have to pass this on. And I want to say at the outset that I hope my interpretation is wrong, and I hope this is not the case. But it looks like, from here, right here, right now, it looks like President Trump is caving on his demand for a measly $1 billion in the budget for his wall on the border with Mexico.

The Democrats are threatening a government shutdown. It’s the same old same old, and I was hoping that Trump would throw this shutdown thing right back in their face and have everybody realize they’re the ones engineering these shutdowns that nobody would notice anyway unless a big hullabaloo was made about it. The Democrats seem to have successfully used this stupid, silly threat of a government shutdown to get their way. What Trump is saying is if we need to get this done, then I’ll delay the spending on the wall until September. And it’s just a measly billion dollars.

But the problem here, folks, is one of politics. If this happens, if Trump does — and I use the word “cave” guardedly. Trump, I’m sure, does not ever think he caves on anything. But outward appearances are what they are. And the bottom line is that if he is willing to withdraw a demand of his for a measly billion dollars for the wall because the Democrats are threatening a shutdown then the Democrats will have just learned that this threat works on Trump, too, not just all the other Republicans.

>>What is going on here at FR reminds me of 2004-2005 with Bush. There were some of us who were beginning to call him and Rove out...and we got flamed EVERY TIME. Those who were here then KNOW THIS IS TRUE. Many here were spouting the whole “concern troll”...”nagging naboobs of negativity” stuff then...THE SAME STUFF everytime someone who point something out about Bush. It got mean.

Funny how the same people who were defending Bush and flaming his opposition here on FR now can’t say one good word about him or Rove...but yet they are offering the same defense they did back then.

I think your analogy is an excellent one, and a sharp observation!

Precisely. This battle is the sine qua non for the war:
`essential; without it, nothing else; a thing that is absolutely necessary.’
The wall is the culmination of what we have wanted for ten years, starting when the open borders crowd offered the ineffectual Secure Fence act as a sop to get their amnesty.
It is why candidate Trump won. It’s going to happen.

Those “concerned” and “surprised” even here on FR over the globalists’ last gasps and the MSM’s usual lies—even more frantic and unbelieveable in these final days—they turn my stomach.
It is absolutely necessary. As opposed to “non-essential” furloughed deep state hired hands.

There is no substitute for victory here. If they manage to put this off, if they continue to fund useless, even diabolical `rat boondoggles ... then they can find the money—a small fraction of what open borders costs this country each year—to start building the damned wall.

I’ll rest easy when illegal aliens aren’t being told to rest easy.
DACA is not going away.

I hope Trump doesn’t think he has 2 terms to build this wall, because if construction isn’t started in a years time there won’t be a 2nd term.

So if it don't happen quickly after nearly 30 years of total open border violent chaos sponsored by the deciples of deceit in D.C., we can just go back to businesses as usual, get rid of Trump and bring them back on board! Brilliant.

It’s not like he had a choice. The fact of that matter is Congress isn’t giving him the money. He could either not get it built with a government shutdown or not get it built without. And we’ve had enough grandstanding BS government shutdowns lately that it doesn’t really fly with the people. This was always the problem with his scorched earth campaign style, he doesn’t have a lot of allies in Congress, getting things passed will be very difficult.

Be careful, Huck. You can get flamed for questioning The Donald. Relax, grab a cup and have a drink of Kool-Aid...

p.s. You forgot DACA. Alex Marlowe asked him about DACA yesterday and the reply was simply, “We have to take care of people.”

If Trump caves on the wall, he might as well not run in 2020. His base will abandon him in droves

So...for curiosity...I looked back and found this...from 5/19/2007:

MNJohnnie: This is just more of the nonsense made up BS from the rabid Bush haters.

Me: So...you know what...if Bush has hatred coming from the right it is self inflicted and WELL DESERVED. I voted TWICE for him for governor...and TWICE for president because I believed in him. I didn't move...he did. That is enough to receive my distain.

I don’t think that would be a conscious decision. Rather, I think it would be a natural result. There was a significant portion of the electorate who came out to vote when they had previously given up. If they don’t see the wall built, etc., I think their enthusiasm will dissipate and they would just return to their previous state of not voting again....resulting in a Dem win.

On the Dem side, their people are frenzied, foaming at the mouth, insanely motivated to vote.

>>>I believe President Trump has honorable intentions to build the wall, but he has met the globalist swamp, and the swamp won. Mr. Trump does not have absolute power as he did when running his business.

Spot on. I do not doubt (yet) Trump's desire to build the wall...but I said last year it would never be built...and I still don't think it will. I don't think he quite understood the difference you pointed out about being the king of a business and having to gain the cooperations of all the alligators in the swamp.

Someone recently asked “What specific example can you give demonstrating that Ivanka/Jared’s influence has resulted in a changed position?”

Your post is a good example.

>>>They aborted themselves out of existence, no longer have any supporters - facing extinction unless they bring in new parasites

That is so true. I've seen studies that look at generational trends and population growth....and the democratic party (and especially the black community) have aborted over 60-100 million voters when you count future generations from aborted children.

Had it not been for abortion...the democrats would have a solid hold on the congress and the White House. The GOP would never be in power again.

Assume only 25% of those eligible voters voted in the nationals...and add 13-25 million votes to the total...and you see the picture.

That presumes every baby born to a Democrat grows up to become another Democrat. Was not the case in my family.

There is a lot more...but it was overkill. Most of it revolved around the "Bush doctrine" and my anger at leaving Iran intact to build nukes and carry on terror...but a lot of it was because he wasn't conservative.

And I did look up a couple of people on here...and one in particular...who responded to me...well...this from 10/30/2007 - "I’m so proud of President Bush." - "One thing I have noticed about the MSM and the Bush Haters" - 2006; "A very strong support of President Bush, always have been, and always will be..." - 2005.

So...take it all for what it is worth....and know it's just groundhog day you're living through...

>>>Was not the case in my family.

Nor was it mine. I actually voted for Dukakis in '88. Came to Christ in '93...and realized that the democratic party was no longer the democrats of my dad and grandad.

However, the study looked at demographics and those who abort their children...took into account their voting party and the % that would continue to vote democrat. The 60-100 million was not the total number...but the advantage.
