North Korea launched a ballistic missile Sunday morning that flew around 430 miles, a South Korean military official said, in what appears to be the latest missile test in defiance of United Nations sanctions.
The missile flew around 30 minutes and landed in the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea, Japan's chief cabinet secretary said.

Is this the equivalent of the Japanese having talks with us and then bombing Pearl Harbor?
I hope Trump doesn’t talk to kimmy. Bottom line is this guy is too dangerous, you cannot negotiate with an idiot. Many say he has an intelligent strategy, of which I’ll laugh at all day long. Just a fat kid with dangerous toys.

430 miles in 30 minutes is a very slow “ballistic” missile.
To me it suggests it did too much of something. I assume that doing less of yhat will get them greater distance. They were 300 km short of lots of Japan.

Yes ours goes 4,000 miles in 30 minutes.
Our ballistic missiles go a significant bit farther than that in 15 minutes.
Even the old and retired Titan II went 9,900 miles at a top speed of 15,000 mph.

I believe it was reported to go 2,000 km “up”... Seems a waste to lob one that high for no more distance than they achieved, unless it was on purpose. Range-finding maybe?

This is not good. About a month ago or so (not sure of the date) Trump made some dire predictions to Kim if he were audacious enough to fire another missile. Kim gave the US the “Mussolini Salute” and shot one off, which blew up. While the world laughed at pobrecito Kimmie, few really noticed that Trump did basically nothing.
Now an emboldened Kim has “crossed another red line” and fired another that worked well enough to give him encouragement. I don’t know what Trump is doing, or what are his plans, but he must surely know the world is watching. Iran, especially, is watching and is starting to make a bolder move or two itself. Trump has to make SOME high-profile show of force that involves more than just moving some ships around. It doesn’t have to be a major military invasion that would start a prolonged war and cost thousands of lives, just to make the fat little bastard disappear would be sufficient. If the US does nothing, many around the world will start to wonder if Obama was really an anomaly.
