The dramatic difference between Western civilization and the Muslims is, in the West individuals are not allowed to take the power allotted to the state in their own hands. If we do, we are punished. Thus, you can’t punish or kill somebody because they are violating a law. (Except under very narrow circumstances.)
Muslims are empowered by their “religion” to take the “law,” as they interpret it, into their own hands. If a Muslim sees a woman “improperly” dressed, he can “legally” take a variety of actions from rape, to throwing acid, to beating or killing to “correct” the infraction. A Muslim can commit any type of what we in the West describe as a crime and feel that his actions are not only justified, but required of him. (Honor killings are an example.)
There won’t be many reactions to Muslim breaches of Western law by Western individuals. We must either respond as a society, using our institutions, or we must, as individuals, bow to Muslim “laws” on our own because we are not allowed by our legal structure to defend ourselves.
Yes, it would be nice if every French and British woman simply carried a gun in a quick-draw holster and shot men accosting them. The accosting would stop instantly.
