High hopes for India-EU free trade deal

Rising protectionism in the US is pushing the EU to look elsewhere in the world for promising trading partners. India is one of those countries. German chancellor Angela Merkel is meeting Indian prime minister Narendra Modi today - and both sides have their feelers out for a potential free trade deal.

Perhaps this will help in bringing BMWs to India finally? And in return, Tata Motors can finally import into Germany with a 1,999 Euro car?

DW as most of mainland Europe excepting the UK including German media rely on our perverted media to formulate and forecast such evaluations.

BMW has a factory in India since 2007. Audi is also present. Mercedes has been around much longer. Rolls Royce, Porsche and Lamborghini have dealerships in the major cities, but import their cars.
