Why is Trump teasing Comey (and us) about taping his conversations?

My guess is that there are none. That said, they’re too stupid to realize that Trump sucks up the enemy (media) bandwidth with a few simple words. He keeps them working overtime over nothing. I wonder how many spend time thinking about, having phone calls, writing articles, etc., his tweets and comments about nothingness.

They hang on his every word hoping to destroy him. He is literally living in their heads making fools of them all and they’re too stupid to realize it. They’re so predictable and so easily played, it’s pure entertainment and they’re oblivious.

Comey produced a recording? If so in what way did it help him in the testimony he gave Thursday? The only revelation I witnessed was the admission by Comey that Trump has never been the target of ANY investigation.

Everything else Comey said was unwitnessed, so if it was true why would Trump so strongly deny it if as you say Comey had recorded the conversation?

Did you read any of the crazy comments after that article? Dims continue to not have facts right or at least remain willfully ignorant.

I good point.

Whether they are of the professor or something else related to Trump it is probable that Comey has video of something incriminating (to Comey) in his office.

Simply because that is the way FBI people think.

Once upon a time, I had a reason to search out the local FBI.

Office not marked. In an office building with long halls with many unmarked doors....

Searched me as though I am a street thug....

And I was there to give them info I thought important.

I made up my mind, after I left there and thought about it, that unless they arrest me for something, I would never enter their office again unless it is on my terms.

I even had to give them my pocket knife, which on that day was just a little larger than your little finger.

Thinking about it later, I am of the belief that everything said in that room was on video.

A bunch of assholes.

I have no doubt that Trump said it specifically to force Comey to tell the truth. He's always played the "Boy Scout" while manipulating the politics. But it would all fall apart if he were to try to take down President Trump, and it were to later come out in a perjury trial (I believe in DC the law allows secretly taped conversations, as long as one of the parties is aware of it.)

Imagine if Comey were celebrated by the left for taking down the POTUS, then was convicted of perjury?

I'm convinced that Comey's testimony was radically different than it would have been without the warning to Comey.

WRONG! As I recall, Sessions and maybe some others were there. When everyone else departed, Sessions paused, as though he intended to stay. Comey insisted that he leave, too.

Everyone has a recording device on them at all times. It is called a Smart Phone.

My $20 Verizon prepaid LG Smart Phone allows me to record any conversation with anyone with a simple press of a button. I can record HOURS of conversations without anyone knowing by touching the screen and putting the phone in my pocket.

I am sure the billionaire President of the United States has at least the same capability.

There doesn’t have to be a ‘recording system’ installed in the Oval Office.

Reporters are so stupid it hurts!

[My guess is that there are none. ]

PRESIDENT TRUMP did say the MSM will be very disappointed with the answer to their question. But, there may be OTHER incriminating tapes that could have been discovered as they were cleaning out COMEY’S office.

“As one FReeper said today, it’s possible Trump found tapes Comey had made, and never made any himself.
I believe Comey was fired before that Tweet about the tapes went out.”

And don’t forget, when he WAS fired, he was across the continent, hearing about it on the news, and his office was already under lock and key.

I would predict that a tape of the private dinner will be shown and it will be the only tape. That will be sufficient to prove Comey guilty of perjury and the existence of a conspiracy

hope you’re right

— Why wasn’t Comey pursing the leaks? —

Because he knew right where they were.

I was roughly probing the timeline of “Flynn contact with Russia” and events following. The fact that Flynn was under investigation was also leaked.

That sets up the honey-pot theory, where Flynn “did a minor wrong on purpose” to get Trump’s enemies to come into Trump’s view.

Another thing with Flynn, like the other Trump/Russia investigations. Comey had no intention of EVER closing them. Keeping them open is his excuse to keep the muh Russia fires burning, while hoping for a processs crime, which is the ONLY thing currently open vs. Flynn. That is, if we believe Comey’s testimony on that point.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

glad to see you dust off this “honey pot” theory re: flynn was actually designed by trump team to draw out the deep state criminals.

stay tuned for more!

Well perhaps there was another meeting because I do seem to recall reading that call me was in a meeting with Trump and several others and at the conclusion Trump asked call me to stay and everyone else to leave.

If I had to vote for which speculative scenario out there now that I wanted to be the true one, I would put yours at the top of the list. It would be great if that is true, and I hope that you are correct.

Maybe Comey didn’t stop with just Trump and company. Didn’t J. Edgar have a reputation of using the FBI to gather dirt on everyone in government and industry for leverage? Did Obie give Comey a similar mandate? What does “Justice” have from their confiscation of all the former directors files—all of the members of Congress closet skeletons?

It isn’t just me. When Comey released his Opening Statement on Wednesday, prior to Thursday’s sworn testimony, his claims of fearing being alone with Trump, brought a response from El Rushbo. He said it was weird in light of Comey’s insistance that their initial meeting be just the two of them. I’m wondering if Comey may have assumed his 6’ 8” stature would awe Trump and give him the psychological upper hand, but found Trump to be unawed and a tougher customer than he expected. Rush also suggested that Comey may have been setting traps for Trump. However, Trump has been playing three- dimensional chess, while the left has been playing checkers.

Trump could have been recording the telephone conversations as part of the normal operating procedure. We do know that someone leaked the transcript of Trump’s conversations with the Australian PM and the Philippine President. This could just be the case for foreign calls.

...were captured by a recording system he had installed in the White House

President Trump never said this. People really need to pay attention to his tweets. His critics assume he is just making stuff up, but they appear to be very, very well thought out.

"James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!" - President Trump

Leaving it vague is brilliant. He just teases them and their heads explode. He may have tapes, or he may not. He may have tapes that are soooooo boring they’ll spend endless hours doing analysis on them only to come up with nothing - or, there’s explosive stuff that makes him look great and/or makes Comey look terrible.

...it’s just one big mind f**k.

Once upon a time, I had a reason to search out the local FBI.

Once upon a time the local FBI thought they had reason to 'search out' me. Two agents came to my home. I was out on my tractor, mowing grass. I saw them come in and then around to the back. Then a person here with me said something to them and they backed the black SUV back to where I met them.

I never got off my tractor. They identified themselves and my first comment to them was 'What took you so long to come?' There answer, 'The local police chief says you are ok." And I controlled the conversation from there.

They wanted to ask me about a friend of mine in Alabama, and I said you don't need to ask me about him, your agents in Alabama are in touch with him every few days.

And so on. Near the end of our conversation, I suggested that if they really were interested in finding corruption they should turn their attention to DC. The male agent laughed and said, 'You mean inside the Belt Way!'

We parted on friendly terms and I never heard from them again. This was maybe 5 or 6 years ago.
