The US national HATE Media and Democrats are DIRECTLY to blame for the shooting of the Congressional Republicans! Within the last month two artistic works have drawn criticism for imagined violence against Trump. In May, comedian Kathy Griffin apologized for a photo where she held a mask of a bloody, severed Trump head after a major backlash where CNN cut ties with her. More recently, a production of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” depicted a Trump-like figure who was assassinated. The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., on Twitter highlighted another user’s tweet that said, “Events like today are EXACTLY why we took issue with NY elites glorifying the assassination of our President,” soon after shots were fired at Republican congressmen during a baseball practice.

Washington Hospital Center (aka MedStar) is an excellent, academic hospital facility and well-equiped for major surgery. I know this because I had open heart surgery there a few years ago myself. I was very impressed with the quality of the surgical care I got (and I’m a surgeon).
We can be confident that they’re doing everything that can be done for the injured.

Mood in White House turns more grim as word circulates that Congressman Steve Scalise injuries are critical, his health precarious.
Maybe I’m being a bit optimistic, but don’t post-surgery patients (at least for surgery from being shot) always go on ‘critical’ for a day or so? Any surgery is high-risk (some more than others0, but we take for granted all will go well.
That’s my hope.
Not a surprise. He lost a fair amount of blood waiting for EMTs. His hip is most likely shattered which means a lengthy surgery. He needs the level of care that ICU can give him. This shouldn’t concern anyone. The concern if he has trouble healing due to his age

Stable but critical are not mutually exclusive. Stable means his vitals have reached a controlled state. He is most likely receiving blood. His surgery was probably very complex. He needs the care of an ICU unit not the med surg ward
I had a BAD leg break once - broke the ball off of my femur skiing. Lengthy hospital stay.
Not one of my best days...
Serious place to be injured.

Well perhaps he’s still near the OR in case further work needs to be done....not all hospitals are designed the same way.
The vital role is he is very likely where he needs to be given the condition he’s in and what the Dr.s have determined necessary.

My M.D. husband said they may have hit the femoral artery- a big deal!
