President Trump: We Will Handle North Korea For What They Did To Otto Warmbier
Townhall.com ^ | June 20, 2017 | Katie Pavlich

When 22-year-old American student Otto Warmbier was released from North Korean captivity last week after being held as a war criminal for 17-months, his family praised President Trump for getting him out.

"When Otto was first taken we were advised by the past administration to take a low profile while they worked to obtain his release. We did so without result," Otto's father, Fred Warmbier, said during a press conference in Ohio last week. "Earlier this year, Cindy and I decided the time for strategic patience was over. It is my understanding that Ambassador Yun and his team, at the direction of the president, aggressively pursued resolution of the situation."

"I think the results speak for themselves," he continued.

Speaking from the White House Monday night, President Trump announced Otto had died after coming home from North Korea in a coma. The regime claims he went into a coma after taking a sleeping pill and experiencing botulism. American doctors who examined him upon arrival said there was no evidence of those claims and that Otto had suffered severe brain damage, possibly due to a traumatic injury.

“I just want to pass on the word that Otto Warmbier has just passed away. He spent a year and a half in North Korea. A lot of bad things happened," Trump said. "But at least we got him home to be with his parents where they were so happy to see him even though he was in very tough condition. But he just passed away a little while ago."

He also implied there will be consequences for what the regime has done.

"It is a brutal regime and we’ll be able to handle it,” he continued.

Warmbier's parents describe Otto's captivity as brutal and extremely inhumane. The North Korean regime is still holding three American citizens hostage

"On behalf of the entire State Department and the United States government, I extend my condolences to the Warmbier family, and offer my prayers as they enter a time of grief no parent should ever know," Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in a statement. "We hold North Korea accountable for Otto Warmbier’s unjust imprisonment, and demand the release of three other Americans who have been illegally detained."

>>Which moronic US President decided to scrap the Neutron Bomb?

Please continue. You have no idea what you are talking about.
The “neutron bomb” was only envisioned as a battlefield weapon for taking out tanks and causing massive local war field casualties.

There are so many resources out there for you to look at before you post.
A “neutron bomb” was never proposed as a high yield theater of war or strategic weapon, let alone a long range weapon.

We have plenty of normal nukes in the 2.5MT range that will do the job you are thinking about. Most strategic weapons fall into the 250Kt to 500Kt range because they are as massive as anything you could ever need for a “strategic” attack. Anything bigger is just genocide and pointless from a military perspective. That is exactly why the weapons programs after 1954 or so concentrated on long range weapons delivery of small and medium yield weapons and/or scientific studies. Both the USA and the USSR knew that nothing would ever be solved with multi megaton weapons. Everything until the LTBT was research and showmanship. Then we went to the CTBT in hopes that nuclear countries would take their tests underground and only work on scientific and relatively low yield projects - and we actually shared data of these tests. The neutron bomb was never practical, and all research went into the “Super” thermonuclear design for ICBM MIRVD delivery of small 60kg warheads. We’ve been at that stage since at least 1972, and not much has changed until now for the most part.

>>Will a thorough biopsy not reveal the cause of Otto’s death?

You mean “autopsy”.
A biopsy is pretty much useless when already room temperature due to obvious murder.

I understand. The entire state of California is labeled a liberal bastion of fruits and nuts, when in reality it’s only LA and San Fran that deserve those labels. Most of the rest of the state is red.

"...not this time / isn't a Jeb Bush administration..."

What do you really expect is going to happen?
Otto Warmbier is a truly unfortunate college kid. It is heartbreakingly sad and very tragic what happened to him.
I will bet there will not be multi-million-dollar missiles launched in his memory, though.

If he doesn't sleep in a different place every night or so, he ought to think about it (a la Qaddafi.)

We aren’t going to do spit about this is my bet.
Maybe some more sanctions and raise hell with China about it and that will be that.

I agree, they might try some diplomatic pressure but otherwise short of a military strike what are your options?

One option I would consider would be a drone strike on KimEl nut job to try and take him out.

That's a lovely straw man you have there!

I'd imagine there are other things which the Trump administration would have up their sleeve than exist in your imagination.

“What’s a spread of missiles?”

A lot of them going out in a fanned out array.

Gotta love the stinkin' thinkin' from some corners on this thread.

I imagine you wouldn't last very long in the Trump administration.

"...assorted insults..."

What is with the insults, FRiend?
I have mentioned many times this whole chapter is extremely sad and utterly tragic for the Warmbier family.
How much are U.S. taxpayers willing to spend in personnel, hardware, and intelligence resources over this particular horrific event?

Trump just tweeted: “While I greatly appreciate the efforts of Prsident Xi & China to help with North Korea, it has not worked out. At least I know China tried!”

Sounds like Trump has said ‘Enough is enough’.

Sounds like that may be the case
Actions speak much louder than words however

Sounded like a border tax was on the way
Sounded like DACA would be ended
Sounded like tax reform would get done
Sounded like the ACA would be gone
Sounded like a bunch of folks at carrier in Indiana would be keeping their jobs

I’ve been seeing speculation that he was administered too many doses of sodium thiopental (truth serum). Apparently, when a person is dosed too many times, it will cause exactly what happened to Otto.
