Another day, another terrible review for NBC News talent Megyn Kelly in the establishment media. The Boston Globe’s television critic Matthew Gilbert ripped Kelly for lacking both the charisma and acumen to be successful at NBC News.
After watching the first three poorly-rated episodes of Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, he notes that charisma is a “relatively hard quality to define” and points out that “Merriam-Webster actually resorts to the supernatural in its first definition of the word: ‘A personal magic of leadership arousing special popular loyalty or enthusiasm for a public figure.’”
“All I know is that I don’t find Megyn Kelly charismatic. She has no ‘personal magic,’” Gilbert writes, adding that Kelly “is lacking in that mysterious quality that engenders curiosity, excitement, and trust in a TV viewer.”
According to Gilbert, “there’s something stubbornly shallow about her presence, so that when she sits down with an international dodge artist like Vladimir Putin, she seems way out of her league.”
Kelly, according to Gilbert, “came off like a poseur” in her widely-criticized interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin by just “going through the motions of seriousness” and wound up looking “two-faced” after her disastrous interview with Alex Jones aired. After HuffPost obtained unedited footage of Kelly’s interview with Putin in which a “nervous” Kelly lobbed him “softballs,” Kelly was resoundingly mocked. And Gilbert notes that Putin “brushed her and her questions off like they were so much dandruff.”

No longer a Megan fan, I liked Tami Laren, but they removed her. The new blond girl on OANN is like a Megan clone, but with a touch of G.Gordon Liddy. Fox lost me to the new Amateur news (As I call it) because the OANN female reporters are all so young, they look like they came out of HS.)
Exactly - she would have had a dwindling but still substantial following that would have sustained a long career for her at FOX.
I remember Laurie doing a piece about her flight with the Blue Angels. During the water survival part of the training, she wore a string bikini.

That’s the second Journalist Alex Jones has destroyed. The first being Piers Morgan. Love him or hate him you got to love the effect it has on Journalist that hate conservatives.
There is not a big audience crossover between Fox and the MSM. On Fox, she was a known quantity that changed from a leading light to a Diva wannabe. On NBC, she was an unknown Diva without talent and no residual fan club. Bye Bye MeAgain.
And the forgettable Paula Zahn.
She didn’t check her email. I wrote here a very nice email the morning of the Debate. I pointed out that she had a choice, and that choice would determine her future. She could either be a real journalist or a shill and that how she behaved during the debate would determine what she was. Had she listened to me, she would be a success today ... she didn’t listen. She’s a failure. (Told ya so, lady, listen next time!) :-)
MK had a sweet ‘gig’, and all she had to do to keep it was to play fair and retain some humility. Pride truly does goeth before the fall.
I don’t have cable so have only seen short clips of the Putin interview. Megyn lost me at that GOP debate, so I’m hardly a fan. BUT I am interested to know: did this same TV critic can Chelsea Clinton as hard or is it just that Megyn comes from the “wrong” network?
