I imagine she’ll get a nice cushy position at UC Berkeley or maybe UC Santa Cruz for the fall semester. I’m sure most of the faculty and a good portion of the students in those fine institutions agree with her.
Was she actually paid by the university?
It’s possible that her real employer (research lab, government agency, etc.) actually covered her pay - the “adjunct” was honorary.
On the other hand, if she actually taught, that’s increased likelihood that the university paid.
