Drivers are enjoying the cheapest Fourth of July gasoline in more than a decade. Enjoy it while it lasts: Experts say prices will start inching higher soon.

The average price nationwide for a gallon of regular is $2.23, down 15 cents from a month ago, according to AAA.

And really cheap gas is even more common than suggested by that average: About 25% of gas stations nationwide are selling gas for $2 a gallon or less.

Hmmm. Guess the intrepid reporter forgot to call and ask me. Still close to $3.00/gal in Reno. Sorry about all the extra garbage at the site.

Well it does say at 25% nationwide it’s $2 or less. So yeah, using common core math, that must mean that 3/4 of the rest of us are paying more than that. DOH! ;-)

$2.15 here in Maryland near Andrews AFB. I see that the gas tax for Indiana just went up 10 cents per gallon. Now 28 cents of tax. That makes it just a little below Maryland’s gas tax of 30.3 cents per gallon.
