I just think you’re struggling for an excuse to avoid doing what needs to be done. You know if the idea is to get China to do something (which I think is a fools errand) then the most likely way to make that happen is to convince them that the next step is military. They won’t want a war in their backyard particularly one waged by the US. If sanctions on NK didn’t work then sanctions on China certainly won’t.

Just because suicidal Fox is trying to resurrect this piece of shit, doesn’t mean that Ralph Peters opinions need to be posted on FR.

Agreed. So that raises the question whether the U.S. govt has the stomach for nukes. I don’t think so.

You reposted it to a list that is far and wide.

That’s worse than posting the original article.

We are not configured in Korea to invade the North. We are set up for defense. The forces there are supposed to hold the lines until all the heavy divisions we don’t have can be loaded on ships we don’t have and brought to Korea and unloaded. We don’t have an offensive option in Korea. Much as I love the Navy, Naval Forces, mainly carrier aircraft simply aren’t numerous enough to do much to a dug in enemy. Peters has his head firmly implanted.

Actually they do have plans to move north. Ground forces will be mainly made up of S. Korean Army. They have bases in Guam, Okinawa, Japan, and S. Korea. I suspect they can hold as many planes as necessary.

Well you can’t bluff on military action. If you make a threat, you have to be prepared to carry it out.

What would you do?

I would hope that long-time, respected members of FR could see the difference between never-Trumpers and MAGA.

This guy says he’s an historian - well look at his history, would you?

It was only six moths ago that Ralph Peters vowed to vote for Hillary Clinton!

And now he is lecturing us on... What?

FoxNews wants to resurrect this guy for some reason. Well, since FoxNews is in a suicidal death spiral, I really don’t care about their new spokesmen. Ralph Peters? Ha ha ha...

Please don’t post anything about Ralph Peters ever again on FR!

I doubt Trump is as naive as you make him out. He knew he had to go through the motions in the lead up to the eventual military actions which will result in a form of chaos as our enemies pile on. Going negative at the time would have been counterproductive.

I would either do it or I would simply leave open the impression that military action is on its way without actually saying so.
