More Gonad envy, I think.

And I find it interesting that it happens to be in the place where the Soviet Union’s iron grip was shrugged off by the Poles following Pope John Paul the Great’s historic homecoming there.

I agree that we might just have seen history get made.

It was a towering and Reaganesque Berlin Wall speech for the 21st century. I’ve watched it a few times. So much good stuff in the speech and it was given in the perfect location.

I listened, getting ready for work this morning. I lingered to hear until completion. This was a historic speech by any measure. I've sought out the best in history. This was longer than most of the best, but it was required to reacquaint people of the world to historical facts. I was enamored by the speech. It had several levels, all connected by the theme of Godliness, liberty, family... and strength against ternary.

I'm going to reread this during the weekend. It's very dense and will take me some time to unpack, research (my maternal family emigrated to America from Poland in the 30's. But we - the 2nd generation - didn't know squat of their plight because they completely immersed themselves in American culture).

I thought Cato the Censor held the prize for ending every speech the same way!

"CARTHAGE MUST BE DESTROYED! " was indeed Cato's never ending ending.

But Cicero had his pet phrases as well; not to mention the fact that third year Latin is ONLY Cicero ( first year is an introduction to Latin: a few short stories [ sort of like a Dick & Jane primer ], a simple myth here and there [Romulus & Remus, the rape of the Sabine women...}, and bits of ancient Roman history], second year is Julius Caesar and his book on the Gallic Wars, third year is Cicero, and fourth year is Virgil...thankfully ! ) and EVERY sentence was written in the damned subjunctive case! :-(
