They elected Obama twice so whatever it is named is probably not a huge concern. The main thing is your #1. That's what they care about. They want costs and premiums to come down ... and they want someone else to to pay for them. :-)
I just think there needs to be a better communications plan from the Trump team. Tweeting out ObamaCare sux may be cool for the base but it doesn't persuade anyone not already persuaded. The voters know their premiums are hitting the roof but may not know what happens as this charade plays out 5 years or so. Some projections might help prod the RINOs in Congress since Trump isn't getting anywhere. Or maybe not ...
There was a poll today that showed that 62 percent of Americans (including 30 percent of Republicans) think that healthcare is the responsibility of the government. And I totally buy those numbers.
I just don’t think people want to control their healthcare the way Paul Ryan thinks they do. They want to pay a “reasonable” premium that allows them to go to the doctor anytime they want. And they want everything “essential” covered.
How you define “reasonable” and “essential” is anyone’s guess.
“It had failed long before Trump even announced his candidacy.”
Can’t be emphasized enough. It was held up with illegal fund transfers from Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac. The republicans took Obama to court and he lost. The funds are gone and Trump will not appeal an obviously illegal act. Trump has been in only 6 months, hasn’t even got legislation through, and they are blaming him. They are insolent children and deserve nothing but ridicule.
“And the Republicans will own Trumpcare. I’m not sure they’re in for any picnic.”
I would love to see McConnell and Ryan submit Obamacare word for word and watch the Democrats say they don’t support anything the Republicans submit.
In my view the best way to lower costs would be if there was more skin in the game and people paid for routine office visits and procedures. Insurance is supposed to be insurance and should cover surgeries and more unexpected and expensive stuff.
But I realize most people just want it all to be paid by someone else. I fear this mentality will drive this country towards single-payer in a few years.
And we keep forgetting that it was designed to fail, to force the public to demand a UK-Canada type single payer system. Control the people’s healthcare, control the people.
Of course, the argument against that is that people will not make the routine health maintenance visits if they have to (shudder) PAY for them!
I can relate to that; when I was young, single and stupid without any health insurance I avoided doctors. I always worried they'd find something expensive wrong!
Every thing created by democrats; exclusively.
They own it.
Good luck to them.
Screaming is not repeal.
Hissy fits is not repeal.
How is that working out for you, losers??
Which is impossible to fix.
Or the moron Dems would have at least tried to, in the last 7 years.
And the imbeciles expected Trump to fix it in 6 months, with no help or cooperation of any kind.

And people in Hell want ice water. IF we were still a Constitutional Republic, the wishes of the masses mean little vs. the Rights of all.
Sadly, the electorate are sheeple, and willfully ignorant. There are some that think the less-of-2-evils will assuage the hunger of govt. Nay, even turn the TIDE of the Socialism march. How voting for the tortoise instead of the hare makes any difference in RE: the finish-line, I have no idea. The destination is still the same.
It’s not as if the (R) talk the talk, why expect ‘em to walk the walk?? Not as if the govt indoctrination system has helped reinforce the notions (yet another great failing of the (R)...40+yrs and STILL the DoEd grows).
IMO, it’s an EASY fix for all those whom want unicorns and rainbows, or merely the fools:
Inform them THEY will be the ‘piggy-banks’ for *ALL* needs/wants of the peoples in the lower-economically-then-them class(es). EVERY man, woman, child, illegal, etc. for ALL their care, housing, food, education, shelter, etc.; though it might cost them EVERY $.01 they have/make/will make. Whatever govt THINKS they shall need, they shall have.
ALL sources of income will be paid directly to the govt. The piggy-bank shall get a receipt of the expected break-out of their ‘charity’.
Once they are happy, THEN, and ONLY then, do we shift to the next ‘rung up’. If the $$ runs out, sorry Charlie.
See how long it would take for the spark of recognition to return to their eyes. I suspect you’d hear a lot about ‘Rights’ and “my property” w/o the slightest hint of hypocrisy.
I don’t know where you learned that? The truth is absolute, actuality, not a concept subject to discussion. Everyone thought the earth was flat long ago and that made the world flat? They were all wrong! I suspect deep down even hard-core liberals know what is right and wrong hence their total disarray today. They are not at peace with themselves, others or their Maker. They seem to be angry most of the time with a true hatred of those who disagree with them. Oh, and we’re not innocent of that either but to a much lesser degree. The Divine Creator is the TRUTH and the farther we stray from that Truth the more complicated our lives become.
I agree with that, applied to myself. I have faith that Jesus Christ is God, given for the salvation of those who believe. I've got the JD sheepskin, and have read Blackstone and others. Before that I was educated in the engineering arts, and there is more than a little bit of "truth" in physical reality, viewed at certain scales.
My point was that as far as the public goes, and as far as those in control of the message, truth is incidental. Lies and propaganda work. Even the foundational principles of law can be subverted, and have been. Courts are intellectually dishonest. Many of our institutions are corrupt, some to an alarming degree.
Notice all the discussions of current events, including the ones on FR. Are they rooted in truth? Or is truth incidental to "the mission?"
I get your meaning now and I totally agree.
