Trump Floats Possibility Of Giuliani Replacing Sessions As AG

President Trump has floated the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions with his steadfast ally Rudy Giuliani to serve in the top Justice Department post, Axios reported Monday.

Trump broached the idea in internal discussions about bringing in and surrounding himself with staunch supporters, sources within the West Wing told the news outlet.

Before The New York Times interview last week, Trump had already expressed anger and frustration at Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, Axios reports.

Trump, during the interview, opined that Sessions' decision to recuse himself was "unfair" to him and he would've likely picked another person to lead the Justice Department if he had known this is the move Sessions would make.

In a tweet on Monday, Trump went after Sessions, calling him “beleaguered” and questioned why the attorney general and federal investigators are not looking into Hillary Clinton for her “crimes” and ties to Russia.

Guys like that pompous Tucker Carlson that say Trump should not be calling out Sessions for his BS are clueless.

Sessions handed control of DOJ to the enemy without even as much as asking Trump, his entire family and agenda are now under relentless legal attack because of what this old fool has done.

Rudy also has PizzaGate info, according to Reddit via Wiener's computer and NYPD (some weeks ago).

Why not have Sessions hire Rudy as an Assistant AG?

-- He should have appointed Rudy on day one. He would not be in this mess. --

Rudy was also associated with the campaign, and would have confronted the same regulation Sessions cited for recusing from cases involving the campaign.

I'm not projecting that Rudy would have followed the regulation, he may have ignored it. But he'd have faced the same questions in his confirmation hearing (about going after Clinton), etc.

Yes. If this was even 10 years ago.

Rudy is 73 years old.

We need an A/G for the long haul.

Having said this - Rudy would be PERFECT as a Special Investigator against Bill, Hillary et al.

On many issues, Rudy is a liberal. Sessions is a solid conservative. Sessions gave up his senate seat to become Trump’s attorney general. Sessions supported Trump early on when most people didn’t take Trump’s candidacy seriously. Sessions is quietly getting the job done. The left wants Sessions gone. If Trump dumps him, he will be doing exactly what the left wants.

Ok. How is an AG supposed to function?

This is another unknown inside sources say post.

I heard quite awhile ago that Rudy didn’t really want the job. Too old.

“All he has to do is order it, right?”

Sessions recused himself and his democrat deputy obviously won’t do it.

At this point he wouldn’t get through the Senate.

It’s really surprising to me that so many Freepers are hell-bent on pushing President Trump to fill up his administration with New York City liberals.

Recess appointment could work for Guiliani.

He would be the right guy to fire Mueller and Rosenstein.

Let the Dems howl.

I am still hoping that there is some kind of strategic distraction going on with Sessions.

I have never seen Sessions as a Deep State-ter—it just does not ring true.

I am hoping the strategy is to make it look like Trump and Sessions are at odds, so the work behind the scenes can take place.

Then they lower the boom when the Deep State-ters least expect it!

I can dream.......

we need an aggressive AG to go after the obama clinto scandals nd start throwing these corrupt democrats in jail.

First, the president will have to go back on his statement of November 22 that he will not pursue any further investigation of Hillary. "She's been through enough." He made that statement, I believe, even before Sessions had been named as the AG nominee.

It is amazing how many Freepers think it was Sessions decision to not pursue Hillary. The facts on that have been posted numerous times, but it continues to be ignored as if it never happened.

-- if he's tweeting about a "beleaguered" Jeff Sessions, reality is exactly the opposite. --

"Beleagured" means surrounded by troubles, knee deep in alligators. Sessions is beleagured, in part by Trump attacking him.

And Sessions seems to have forgotten all about HilLIARy’s crimes.

Comeys’ recommendation not to prosecute her WAS NOT BINDING on anyone.

What does “solid conservative” even mean?

What is the practical result of having a “solid conservative” as AG?

Chasing around potheads to make it look like he’s doing something?

As far as I can tell, “solid conservative” means absolutely nothing in practice.

Sessions is working his tail off deporting illegals, rounding up gang members, taking on sanctuary cities, and running a mammoth department with limited personnel due to democratic obstruction. His recusal saved Trump’s ass as any court would have thrown out any judgement connected with him and as a former Supreme Court judge, he knew that. Now, he has given up a Senate seat where he was incredibly effective and Trump is pushing him out. Sessions was the first and firmest supporter Trump had and has strictly followed Trump’s agenda. If this is Trump management and Trump loyalty, I and many other Trump supporters will not be available in 2020.

..amnesty just dropped off the table

Lol, amnesty is never off the table with the Dims and Lindsey Graham and John McCain and a host of others still around. They've been trying to pass it since 2006 and will again at any opportunity.

And no one is more responsible for amnesty being stopped three or more times than Jeff Sessions.
