Okay, I stand corrected. He was accelerating before the guy hit his car. I do wonder if there was an attack prior to that that caused him to accelerate.

After seeing this video, my view has changed. Maybe he panicked, maybe he was kissed, but this was not premeditated.

It seems he deliberately hurt people though or had absolute no regard for them and that’s what matters.
This is America... there is enough correlation for reasonable doubt.
Would a reasonable person... legally driving on a street... surrounded by people armed with baseball bats attempt to flee in the event his vehicle was struck?

Vehicles #1 and #2 had their civil rights violated.
Surrounded by terrorists wielding baseball bats, in a situation tainted by the Charlottesville mayor’s stand down order they were involved in a horrible and very preventable car accident.
No one standing in that street... armed or providing cover for those who were armed gets one ounce of sympathy from me.
Those poor people in the other vehicles did nothing wrong.

I thought that video was a real game changer but now I’ve sort of swung back the other way after seeing the video that HollyB posted in #74.
He seems to be accelerating before that guy hit his car. So then the question is whether something had happened that caused him to accelerate initially. These antifa types are thugs and primed for violence. I could easily imagine them having attacked or threatened him but I haven’t seen a video yet that proves that.
Isn’t it interesting! That guy, of all the people in the world, already involved in psyops for the CIA just happens to be right there filming and then snags an interview within just a few moments where he gladly sets up the narrat of “domestic terrorist” before the body is even removed or the perp captured.
This guy walks, and the left explodes.
If he’d have stopped his car instead of accelerating when they first hit it, good chance he gets a severe beating or worse. If he’d put stayed after the “accident” then he dies.
Did the protesters have a permit to block the road? Was the driver initially attacked just for having out of state plates? Did he make any threatening statements before the incident? What did he tell the cops, and did he turn himself in?
Way too many questions to pronounce judgement either way, but it looks like the initial media “terrorist attack” narrative might be completely bogus, just like the initial reports of innocent child victim Trayvon Martin and surrendering Mike Brown were also completely bogus.
The Uniparty/Media forces are desperate to stop President Trump before the NAFTA is redone and the Chinese are called to account on North Korea. They must have this guy as a monster and the President tied to his monstrous acts, and the truth be damned.
Why in the Hell would they get this one right, when they have been so consistently wrong when it comes to hot button emotional cases like this?
He sees a guy to his left with a baseball bat waiting for him. Maybe he thinks there are more waiting for him. He doesn’t want to run the gauntlet. He accelerates to avoid being hit. He’s scared s**tless. He runs into the crowd. He’s still scared s**tless. He backs up and gets the hell out of there. (a possible scenario)
If the jury finds the guy not guilty, where will they protest?
Something like that is how it looks to me. It looks like panic. And of course this fits with Lorenz’s report that the officers said he was scared, not malicious. This is the simplest and most plausible angle, I think.

The vehicle was being attacked by thrown objects before it ever went into the crowd. Some of those right side protesters and others involved were pinned in parking lots against their cars by violent mobs before they could leave. The video is out there. I've seen it.
And as soon after the suspect vehicle came to a stop before reversing, it was immediately attacked by individuals with bats and clubs. In a blink of an eye.
And your ask, "What was he scared of?"
