Charlottesville Mayor: Car Attack Shows Need to Limit Concealed Carry
Breitbart ^ | August 18, 2017 | Awr Hawkins

Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer (D) addressed the August 12 car attack that killed Heather Heyer, suggesting it highlights the need to limit concealed carry.

He said he supports the Second Amendment, and is even "friends with many gun owners," but he thinks more restrictions are necessary following the rally in which a car attack took an innocent life.

According to the Atlantic, Signer said, "While I am…a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, that right, like all Constitutional rights, comes with limits." He then said, "Just as machine guns cannot be owned by civilians in this country ... it should not be acceptable to open-carry or concealed-carry firearms at an event of the sort we saw last weekend."

Shouldn’t he be after gas stations?

If no gas stations, dude would have not had the stuff to power his vehicle.
If no cash or credit card, not able to buy the stuff to power his vehicle.

As an extra precaution, ban gas stations because they are potential bombs - in the wrong hands.

Banning MY right to carry because some arsehole in a car struck a crowd is no different than banning MY right to carry and cut off my tallywacker because there is a rapist running around.

The car had a fully-automatic transmission. Perhaps anyone buying a vehicle with a similar transmission should have to pay a $200 stamp fee and wait a year for BATFE (Bureau of Automatic Transmissions for Everyone) to approve their purchase.

The vehicle also had a high-capacity gas tank, well over five gallons. Perhaps all gas tanks should be limited to five gallons.

Neither of those details had anything to do with its lethality, which is a question of kinetic energy and momentum, but that never stopped regulators from imposing arbitrary restrictions before. It’s time for a horde of new regulations, each with an extra tax. If government cannot protect the people, and it cannot, at least it can pretend to do something. What matters is pretending to matter and growing, the two areas where liberal government excels.

“Just as machine guns cannot be owned by civilians in this country ...” Not true. It is a pain in the butt (on purpose),but legal.http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/05/21/machine-guns-legal-practical-guide-full-auto/ BTW, There are only 3 known incidents of legally owned full auto firearms being used to commit a crime since 1934, one of which was a murder committed by a LEO. http://www.guncite.com/gun_control_gcfullau.html (about half way down the page)

Yeah, that sure disappeared from the narrative quickly, didn’t it?

As did the Spain ISLAMIC TERRORISM

Yet ONE person who chose to associate with anarchists, who chose to be in a volatile situation, all the while unarmed, gets run over by a frantic, mentally ill 20 year old “white nationalist” and the media and divisive pols have a field day.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = =
I guess that is the ‘new catchphrase’ replacing

‘I support NAACP and even am ‘friends’ with many Negroes’.

Although we should, it would be foolish to shut these clowns up.

The more they say, the more they bury themselves - at least to the portion of the population that has ANY common sense.

FYI.. that ‘public safety director’ - Brian Moran - is the brother of Jim Moran - that crooked D Congressman from Alexandria VA.

B Moron ran for guv but about the time McAwful ‘threw his hat in the ring’, J Moron ‘retired’ and brother B was named to McAwfuls cabinet.

Perhaps there is an immunization we can all receive to prevent us from going bonkers - like those fools!

Come on - how can ANYONE really be this stupid?

Without having read the article, the title brings to mind a paraphrase of Mae West.

"Is that a car in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?"

This car attack shows clearly that cars should be banned. Allowing people to use cars from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm would be a start and then phasing out cars over the next 20 years would save lives. More people are killed by cars then by guns. The decision to ban cars is such an easy one. When will people wake up? This is such an easy decision. /S

Is this guy on drugs or what? What does concealed carry have to do with this? I can’t seem to draw a connection.

I don’t know about that. Didn’t search far enough to find out. Of course, according to the media, every firearm is an evil AK or AR.
