The problem is that India isn't even one country. never has been. It's several countries thrown together by the British colonialists for their administrative convenience.
It has 18 official languages and 17 freedom movements within its borders.
But no "complex problems" justify torture, extrajudicial killings, support for terrorism, and its anti-American foreign policy.
The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) is a fascist organization. It was organized in support of teh fascists just before World War II. And Subhas Chandra Bose (who is considered a hero in India) organized an army to fight for the Axis. RSS has committed brutal atrocities against minorities and its political enemies.
The political arm of the RSS is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is leading the current government. Not that the opposition Congress Party is any better.
India is not our friend. The Pakistanis are two-faced, with one group cozying up to us while the others support the terrorists, but India is playing the same game. I don't trust either of them.
