You just know the oldtimers at the jail are going to ride them like rented mules: “You boys did WHAT? Tried to rob a bar full of COPS? You over the age of 20 and ain’t learned to case a joint first?”

Decades ago, before direct deposit, when payday generally entailed being handed an actual paycheck, some genius in Seattle (IIRC) decided he would rob a bank.
The bank he chose happened to be on the block of the FBI field office where most of the agents did their personal banking.
The day he chose was fedgov payday.
Hilarity ensued.

An aquintance of mine owned a gun store. He was a retired cop. A bunch of his cop buddies were in the store when it was attempted to be robbed. The bad guy probably knew something was going wrong when one of his cop buddies locked the door with the bad guy inside. The bad guy did not die that day but went to jail. He did have a few bruises.
