Why doesn’t he perp walk a few dozen big business owners instead? He doesn’t need any EOs at all to do that, just enforce already existing laws. The rest will get the message.
>

Rather he do the arresting of GOVT employees; more egregious violators there I suspect. The employers will quickly figure out who’s next down the chain...

There has to be a wall/secure fence. Otherwise nothing else works, people deported simply come right back and that is what has been happening for years.

We must have a secure border or nothing will work. We also have to enforce immigration laws. There are many steps to making this work. That is why it has not worked in the past, we have always done one thing or another.

There is not even one issue. Cracking down on illegals working is great but they don’t all come to work. Cracking down on illegals working and getting social services is also great but they don’t all come for work or welfare. Some are engaged in the lucrative drug trade that is also tied to illegal immigration and open borders. We must attack from many directions to make it work.

The process has already begun and is beginning to build which is how it has to work. The media is not reporting on what is being done or how effective it is though.

Don’t ever believe something is not happening just because you are not hearing about it in the media. Don’t believe things are not happening even if the media is reporting they are not happening.

I live on the border, there are things going on that the media is not reporting. There are things happening that the media claims are not happening. It is looking good from where I am, the ball is beginning to roll and I think it will gain a little at a time (already is) and at some point it will begin to roll down hill.

We did not get in this mess overnight, and we will not get out of it overnight either. What I do see is ducks are being lined up that will make it all move faster.

We need to be behind President Trump on this, and not waiver- it is the only hope we have.

My idea is MUCH easier, solves more than one ‘issue/problem’ (as well as illegal aliens), won’t cost $.01 and completely legal/constitutional:

END. THE. WELFARE. STATE. (every matter/shape/form)

Enforce and defend our 5th, 13th A. Rights.

- Able bodied will need jobs (lower unemployment, no need for aliens).
- No more ‘carrots’ for brood-mares/illegals
- No crony Capitalism
- More $$ in pockets
- *REAL* charity (if one so wishes)
- No govt social engineering
- Restoration of Rights\property\Freedom
- Smaller govt

I could live with that.

The problem is that this EO would not last five minutes once a uni-party globalist was elected. The wall will last.

NO

Just no. We already pay for their trip home when they are deported. That is all.

We are in this mess because we keep rewarding illegal behavior. If we pay them $5000-$20,000 to go home we will get more illegals that didn’t even plan to come here but will to get that money. Seriously.

It will take decades to remove them and the court system will come to a halt. Millions and millions of lawsuits in which the taxpayers foot the ball. Average cost to remove an illegal in 2016 was $10,854. https://cis.org/Report/Deportation-vs-Cost-Letting-Illegal-Immigrants-Stay

Path of least resistance to get them out now is my suggestion. If you have ever been involved in a lawsuit, you know it is less expensive and time consuming if you find a way to settle it. And this is a compassionate solution to our problem, which will help the home country. Perhaps it will help enough that they won’t need to come here. One time payment or 100 billion every year? This plan assumes a wall and secure border in which anyone sneaking in is immediately sent back.

My question is how easy is it for an illegal immigrant to have an s corp or maybe llc compared to a sole proprietorship and until caught by a taxing entity (state or federal.) How does e verify help in such a situation? As I ask these questions it is sprinkled with my suspicions of such businesses I am fairly certain exist.

I have an indemnity clause in my sub agreements stipulating they use e verify or comparable method and assume all liabilities and penalties for using illegal immigrant labor. I guess what I’m getting at is it seems to me a lot of illegal immigrants are starting either s corps or llcs. It seems to remove them from e verify issue at the prime contractor level. At some point I think the IRS comes after said corp or llc but that could take years.

Illegals are being deported. In far bigger numbers than you can imagine. The media is not reporting that, they only report the sob stories to try to get people to stop the deportations.

There is a carrot and stick in immigration law already to assist in the deportation process that worked well for years. If an illegal agrees to be deported and waives a hearing then they can go through the process to come back legally. Those can be and are now being deported immediately. If an illegal goes through the process to be forcibly deported then they cannot ever legally come back to this country for any reason. The open border supporters clogged up the hearing process by telling them all to demand a hearing. That only worked when they knew they could hang around and not be deported. It is an immigration hearing, nearly all of the illegals lose at their hearing (seriously nearly all lose their hearing because they would have to be able to prove they have the right to be here to win) and are then under court orders to be deported. We are now deporting them (under O they were allowed to stay even with deportation orders from a judge) and the process is already moving forward. When new detention centers with hearing facilities are finished the pace will pick up considerably.

A handful may have some cause to sue, but the numbers that do will be small because someone has to pay those attorneys so they pick and choose cases. Cookie cutter deportations do not make winnable lawsuits, no appeal process for immigration hearings and decisions. Any legal response has to be a lawsuit filed from scratch that unless there are unusual circumstances is not winnable.

There are and will be a lot of pieces to the puzzle. There is no one magic solution to securing the border and getting illegals out of the country. There are a lot of pieces to the puzzle, but we can do it if we keep working at it and supporting President Trump when he is moving forward.

This seems hard to a lot of you, but you have to understand how far this battle has already progressed. Do you remember years ago we were not even allowed to discuss the border problems or problems with illegal immigration here on Free Republic? People were banned for saying we needed to secure the border and get illegals out. Do you know why? Because the liberals had done such a good job brainwashing people that most even here on FR believed illegal immigration did no harm, and in fact was in some ways good for this country. People believed if you thought illegals were bad for the country or should be deported you were believed to be racist. People began to slowly see the truth and realize we had to do something about securing the border and stopping illegal immigration but it was a process over years.

We have come so far with this battle that now the border issues can be freely discussed here and indeed nearly anywhere. Things that were not to be said were said loud and clear by Trump when he was running for President, and by then many knew the truth so it became one of the issues that helped him win the election. The will is there now with the American people who want these issues taken care of. It is no longer a handful of us on the border crying in the wilderness with no one listening like we had for years.

I have been fighting the open border/illegal immigration issues all the way back to the 1970s when President Carter made changes in enforcement that essentially left the border wide open for illegals and smuggling. For most of the time I have been fighting this issue there was no support for my cause, and no light at the end of the tunnel. I began to see light when people on FR started waking up to the problems. I saw a little more light when Trump got elected. I see a little more light every day. I know it is frustrating, but imagine my frustration all these years- and others who were frustrated just as I was. We are now finally after all these years making progress unheard of until now, and yet many think things are moving too slow.

Things cannot move fast enough for me, I have to say. I know after all these years of fighting this- and all the battles we lost along the way that most know nothing about (starting with a court ruling way back that said illegals have Civil Rights while illegally in this country) all those many lost battles must be fought again and won this time to succeed. I am realistic about how big the problems really are at this point though and I know there is no easy fix.

President Trump has started the ball rolling to secure the border and enforce immigration laws. There will be many other things that will need to be done and quite possibly this suggested EO could be a major piece of the puzzle. There is not one magic fix to the many border issues though and the war for our country is far from over. There are many battles left to fight just with these border issues.

Easy to say, except you know realistically that will never happen.

We are already tightening up on social services, we just have to keep tightening up more and more as we go along.

This is like a puzzle and welfare is just one of the pieces, there is no magic one thing fixes all. Many things must work together to solve the many issues.

Yes I knew what you were saying.

I know for a fact illegals have started many businesses here. I have known that for some time, I don’t understand how they could do it though.

I saw a caravan of work trucks with cargo trailers all loaded to the gills the other day and heading for Mexico. My curiosity was great so I began talking to them while we were all getting fuel. Come to find out it was a Mexican owned stucco company that was moving to Mexico. The business was started here years ago and the family that started it decided to just pack up and go back to Mexico. The reason? They felt with Trump as president things were just going to go downhill for them here and they were afraid they would lose everything. So they sold their business, their home, and were taking enough equipment with them to do a business in Mexico and of course they had the money from selling their business and home here.

Some really are already self deporting, I can see that. All the trash talk by politicians and the media is keeping some hanging on to hope but others are seeing a different picture. I think self deportation will gather steam as we move forward on securing the border and enforcing our laws.

Did you all see the open borders pro illegal group attack Pelosi the other day? Did you really listen to what they had to say? They know the dims have been lying to them, and did not deliver on promises when they had the power to do so under O. They see what is coming for them is not good, they are waking up to the fact that the tide is turning against them. They are not smart though- still arrogant enough to demand all illegals be made citizens! Still thinking they can make demands at all at this point.

There is progress, we just have to keep on keeping on. We have to move forward and not let things go backward.

That cost of removing illegals was so high because the liberals were telling each illegal to demand a hearing and be forcibly deported. The Obama administration wasn’t deporting even those that had been through the process and had been issued deportation orders by a judge, so they had nothing to lose and they thought they would get amnesty because liberals were promising them that.

The process is already far different now, there is no incentive for them to fight the process as nearly all of them lose and cannot come back legally EVER, even to visit. The stick is getting used more and more so the carrot of them waiving the hearing and then being allowed to at least apply to return legally will look better and better.

I have seen the carrot work, it used to work like a charm when there was a stick along with it. O took away the stick, but the stick is back now and bigger than it has been in my life.

I don't get it.

Employers can't write off wages as a business expense unless the employee has a Social Security Number or a Tax Identification Number.

The employer would also need to be making monthly FICA and IRS withholding payments to all those fake (or stolen) SSNs and TINs.

Are SSN and TIN accounts so poorly protected that the IRS and Social Security do not detect ANY of this fraud?

I don't believe it.

I'll guess that 90% of employers pay cash to their illegal workers, and write off nothing.

Bottom Line - this idea is worth implementing, but its impact will be very limited.

“So make it a crime to drive uninsured”

It already is in California. It doesn’t deter illegals one bit.

I’m not the one with objections to the wall.

I’ve been in the trenches fighting illegal immigration since the late 1980s.

I’m for anything that discourages illegals from coming, and I’m for any measure that gets the entire herd deported.

I’ve had a front row seat to watch the destruction of southern California, aided and abetted by Bush Republicans and every Democrat.

You are correct. The Social Security Administration and IRS know about this fraud, yet they don’t do anything to stop it.

Why should they? Tax revenue is more important than deporting future supporters of bureaucracy and welfare!

Nobody asks, when you form an entity, if you are a citizen, permanent resident, illegal or a Martian. If you pay your taxes and file your forms, you’re not going to get revoked. As for e-verify - my understanding is that it only applies when someone is applying for a job. Hiring a corp or LLC as a sub-contractor wouldn’t require that.

The very act of going after many companies would, by itself and without regard to results months or more down the line, act to make many, many other companies unwilling to hire illegals. That’d accomplish the goal, right there.

This is EXACTLY like the tax prosecutions announced in the month before April 15. The IRS doesn’t care if any of them are convicted - they are banking on the intimidation factor to work for them.
