Ricardo Rossello, the Democratic governor of Puerto Rico, said Friday that President Trump has responded to his requests for help in the aftermath of two hurricanes, which devastated the island.
First, Hurricane Irma clipped the U.S. territory, with the eye passing just north of the island, while Hurricane Maria directly hit Puerto Rico as a Category 4 hurricane.
"I have to say that the administration has responded to our petitions. FEMA, Brock Long, has been on the phone virtually all the time with me, checking out how things are going," said Rossello.
"The different components of the national guard, military, FEMA and our government are working together on the priorities," he added.
Rosellos comments come after the administration has come under fire by some for not doing enough to help Puerto Rico--or quickly enough.
For example, Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honoré, the former Joint Task Force Katrina Commander, slammed the White Houses positive reports about their response on the island, calling them bullsh*t.
This bureaucratic response is not working. With all due respect to the White House, theyre trying to put lipstick on this pig, but this thing is moving too slow, he told CNNs Anderson Cooper.
But Trump on Friday confirmed what Rossellos said about his administraitons response efforts, saying hes been supportive.
"Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rossello just stated: 'The Administration and the President, every time we've spoken, they've delivered, the president tweeted. "The fact is that Puerto Rico has been destroyed by two hurricanes," he said on Twitter. "Big decisions will have to be made as to the cost of its rebuilding!"
Gen you did such a good job for Katina. Shut your mouth and learn.
Why are we sending hundreds of truck drivers?
The press skips over the fact that Puerto Rico is insolvent because it chose to spend money on social programs instead of infrastructure and are now paying the price.
Sending hundreds of truck drivers because we wouldn’t want to bother the locals, who know the roads and all that sh!t.
Any comparison to Hurricane Katrina is a false flag and Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honoré, the former Joint Task Force Katrina Commander knows it.
New Orleans has multiple ground routes into the city. That means recovery operations moves into the city at 40 to 60 miles per hour. ALL recovery operations supporting Puerto Rico’s recovery cover the last 1,100 miles via surface shipping moving at 20 miles per hour - max.
And once the recovery assets arrive in Puerto Rico they MUST flow through a single port to be off loaded.
The logistic movements into the two cities are totally different BEFORE the you break the bulk cargo containers down into truck/people sized loads.
The Fake News Media desperately wants complaints so they can claim that it is being poorly handled for racial reasons.
The article is misleading though. Rossello is not a democrat. He is of the New Progressive party was the main conservative alternative to Bernier in 2016.
I gotta tell ya, the Miami Florida media...the LOCAL media...are attacking Trump on this Puerto Rico crap. Like they’re getting direct orders from that Perez clown at DNC or Debbie Blabbermouth.
So SICK of seeing/hearing/reading it.
And Marco Rubio isn’t defending things either. Garbage.
Trump is dealing with unprecedented destruction. And the DEMOCRAT governor says he is doing fine.
I despise the Democrats, the media, and RINO backstabbers.

Being that the island is basically leveled; I think Trump should use the model that we used for Japan to rebuild it. Install martial law with four star general as the chief magistrate with the governor as his liaison to the legislature and administration. But, in reality, the general would run the show. Puerto Rico for the most part needs to be bull dozed and rebuilt. Electrical infrastructure should be underground. No more wires on sticks. Residential housing, schools, commercial buildings, etc, should be built to survive a class five hurricane. In order to jump start the economy, huge tax credits and other incentives should be offered for corporations to locate businesses, manufacturing, other job creating sites in country. However, even the best circumstances will take years to recover. Being Americam citizens, the young and the best and brightest will leave for the state’s which will pretty much doom the future of PR.
Because the PR government can’t reach most of their qualified truck drivers, who are living in places that now have no communications with the outside world. They tried hiring semi-qualified people and three fuel trucks were stolen.
Once this is over, PR has got to get its act together, develop a disaster plan, improve its infrastructure, stop having one of the most generous public employee retirement plans in the universe and stop building a society where everybody’s biggest ambition is to get a civil service job. They had a good governor a few years ago, who made a lot of difference during his term, but the municipal unions defeated him.
That said, I think it’s great that Rosselló, their current governor, has come out and thanked Trump and tried to correct the mainland leftist media narrative.
The supplies are sitting at the ports in truckloads...not getting them out to the people. It’s a glut. The military needs to get out there and get this stuff to the people....it’s looking reallly bad...
“And Marco Rubio isnt defending things either. Garbage.”
Little Marco is performing for Latin’o voters in Florida. Btw, being he is firmly embedded with the Establishment Swamp People, look for him to primary Trump.
Because they don’t have anyone to drive supplies to the people...there is no gas, no trucks....and supplies are sitting at the ports...
