Could Mississippi Be the Next Alabama?
Real Clear Politics ^ | October 4 | Caitlyn Huey-Burns

After Alabama Sen. Luther Strange's defeat last week in a Republican primary runoff, the national spotlight turned west and onto incumbents in Nevada and Arizona already facing intra-party challenges next year. Yet just over the nearest border, a Mississippi state senator with something of a vendetta against the party’s establishment was feeling empowered to mount another insurrection.

Chris McDaniel came close to defeating U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran in 2014, and is now weighing a bid against Republican Sen. Roger Wicker. McDaniel monitored the Alabama runoff up close, appearing there in support of eventual victor Roy Moore and getting face time with former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, who is plotting his own war against the establishment GOP via congressional primaries next year. McDaniel (pictured) says Bannon is encouraging him to run against Wicker in Mississippi. And while he won’t make a final decision about getting into the race until the end of this month, he said last week’s results in his neighboring state were nothing short of inspiring.

“These are definitely exciting times,”

Roger Wicker isn’t quite the dirt bag POS that Thad Cochran is.

Here’s a listing of favoralbility ratings for US senators. It’s from mid summer.
Wicker may have some problems if the right person steps up.

NOBODY forgets Mississippi. The turtle screwed the pooch in that state. He and HB had a good game going and not about to allow newcomers into their private club with filled brandy decanters, soft as a baby’s bottom leather chairs, and those fine Cuban cigars.

Keep on truckin’ Chris McDaniel, you’ve a track and a mighty fine engine pulling you.

Wicker needs to go along with Amnesty Senators Hatch, Heller and Flake.

Wicker is a weasel.

We MUST Cantorize the weasels while we still have a country.

“Roger Wicker isn’t quite the dirt bag POS that Thad Cochran is.”

Close enough! He’s been in the Senate for ten years. And he probably has his lips so firmly attached to Mitch McConnell’s butt that he looks like a Remora.

Thad Cochran was just released from the hospital and his last photo showed a very feeble old man. That may be a vacant seat soon.

Not at all saying he shouldn’t be culled, just that if McDaniel is the best Mississippi has, they might hold their fire....

Nevermind. Satan is bound to call Cochran home soon anyway.

Didn’t need your incredibly vibrant visual image. But do need virtual eye bleach. You should clearly be a writer.

Too nuanced for you, eh?

Nothing wrong with Chris McDaniel.... Getting rid of Thad Cochran trumps getting rid of Roger Wicker...

If you’ve got one bullet.... Etc.

Trying to figure out the winner on that list.

Flake has the lowest positive 37% with a sum of -8
McConnell has the highest Negative 48% with a sum of -7
With McCain showing he can’t even win the battle of the worst, with a score of only -4.

So I guess that makes McCain the loser of the losers.

I have a dream ... Roy Moore, Kelli Ward, Chris McDaniel, and Marsha Blackburn elected to the Senate in 2018. McConnell and Cornyn resigning their leadership positions.
