Please pass a law banning all assaults againt rights derived by the creator and expressed in the first 10 amendments of the Constitution of United States. Any high capacity assaults againt these rights proposed on taxpayer time or at taxpayer expense is considered sedition and punished with immediate revocation of citizenship and20 years of prison contracted out to some brutal third world location like Yemen or North Korea.

Years ago, the catch phrase was “Saturday night special”

The original phase contained an extra word at the beginning...

I read through the bill, and it appears that it could have been written by a committee of law students at a brew pub.

The definitions of "assault rifle" seem to overlap each other in a zeal to include absolutely everything, and when it gets to...

(iv) an ability to accept a detachable magazine of more than 5 rounds of ammunition.

It does include everything.

Anti-2A for every Illinois resid, except drug gangs, who are exempted, because they don't worry about laws anyhoo.

Won’t pass here. There are at least 3 manufacturers and tens of thousands of these rifles in private hands here.

Even if they do compliance will be near zero.

“Assault weapon is a very broad term.”

You’re right. They forgot rocks, knives, machetes, dirty bombs, artillery to include RPG’s and grenades, autos of various sizes and makes, assorted gases, and bad language.

It just isn’t a complete list, is it?

Is this why FBI holding back info on shooter, to give pols time to get some gun legislation through? Why else not sharing even basic information?

Yes. Hopefully, there is one good patriot left in that pit of snakes who will leak the truth.

Gear up boys, it’s going to be a lot legislative battles from now until the end of the year.

Anyone got any info on composition of the Illinois legislature and what this bill’s odds of passage are?

>>>Assault weapon is a very broad term<<<

It’s a Liberal made up term like “Choice”, “Undocumented Immigrant” and “Voter Suppression”.

A Black Democrat Congress Critter on Tucker’s Show last night kept saying “Machine Guns” over and over again when referring to the weapons the Vegas Murderer used, saying they should be banned.

Unfortunately, Tucker didn’t correct him.

How about 100%, just like CA when they adopt the same Bill.

Then my fervent hope is that Illinois’s suffering under its budget crisis reaches biblical proportions.

Doesn't Chicago have the toughest 'gun control' laws in the country now?

Maybe a few more pounds of gun control laws will be the difference, right? /s

(It's NOT the guns that are the problem - it's the democrats behind the guns that are the problem... from White Liberal Elites in Vegas hotels to black gang bangers on the streets of America's cities...)

“Rauner is such a Rhino he won’t put up much of a fuss, he’ll say just enough for a few sound bites but he’ll sign anyway. “

He would probably veto it knowing full well that 15-20 rinos would vote to override.

Its veto session now with only a handful of days left in Oct/Nov. Typical democrat stunt with these kind of bills.
Both chambers dem controlled wih a shitpot of rinos. However, there are a whole bunch of non-shitcago area legislators from both parties who wont buy it.95% of counties are red.

This is modeled on the NYS Safe Act, most of which has, so far, stood up in the lower Federal courts. The NRA rushed their challenge into Federal court while the locals were still working it on technical grounds in the State courts. The state cases became moot once the Fed ciurt got involved. The Fed Judge they got, Skretny, is notorious for splitting his decision between the two parties, and he did just that in this case. The NRA really screwed the whole thing up in regards to the NY SAFE act. Now that it’s withstood some Fed Court challenge, and with the success Cali. has had with their regs, it was only a matter of time before other Dem controlled states rolled it out.
