Socialism can work when there are strongly shared culture and values... for a while. Classic case was the Israeli kibbutz.
Denmark... Maybe, for a while. Import a few percent unassimilable or selfishly oriented population, and it won’t work any more. It’s gonna be true in Sweden, and it’s certainly true here.
They might try, but they would be stopped by normals long before they killed that many.
There is a very unusual strategy when you are losing a philosophical war.
When Democrats try to run “like Republicans”, they lose. When Republicans try to run “like Democrats”, they lose. With the obvious, but wrong idea that either side needs to be more extreme (which can mean a multitude of things.)
What actually works is not to run “like” your opponent, but offering more of what your opponent is offering than they are willing to do.
While this works, it really goes against the grain.
Take a very polarized issue, say abortion, from the point of view of the Democrats. What would happen if the Democrats allowed a faction to advocate a complete, national prohibition against abortion? Not just overturning Roe v. Wade, but a law making it illegal throughout the US?
Sure it would drive their extremists nuts. But what would it do the the single issue anti-abortion Republicans? Would they abandon the Republicans who are unwilling to go for a complete ban, for *some* of the Democrats who said they were for a complete ban?
Of course this is a radical example, but it shows the mechanism involved. On much, much more tame issues, the Democrats might theoretically sever off parts of the Republican party whose big single issue has never properly been addressed by the Republicans.
YES!!! Please. PLEASE! Show the American public how little you actually represent them and THEIR values. Please drift farther and farther into lunacy, into extremes that any sane person would find embarrassing. THAT is the sure way to get votes ... in Venezuela.
