Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie took the lead over Democrat candidate Ralph Northam, according to a new poll from Monmouth University released on Tuesday.

A new poll from Monmouth University revealed that Virginians favor Ed Gillespie over Ralph Northam. The latest survey stated that if the vote were held today, 48 percent would vote for Ed Gillespie, while 47 percent would vote for Ralph Northam. This poll represents an upswing in support for Ed Gillespie. A survey released earlier in October had Ed Gillespie five points behind Ralph Northam, well within the poll’s 5.5 percent margin of error.

Contrast this poll and associated circumstances with the Fox poll of the Alabama Senate race.

It’s illustrative of the fact candidate quality matters.

This is an important election. It will determine whether a Republican or a ‘RAT Governor presides over the Virginia redistricting following the 2020 census. Please don’t let it be controlled by the ‘RATS.

No, for the most part they’re corrupt...or dumb.

Occasionally I run across one I admire.

Relax. Moore will win Alabama by 15. That FOX poll makes no sense.

I hope the Democrats believe it and dump millions into the race.

Funny thing. I heard an ad for Northam today. Plays him up as a VMI grad blah bah blah. It did not mention his party affiliation AT ALL.

A short, partial list of conservatives I admire:

Barry Goldwater
Ronald Reagan
Dick Cheney
Sarah Palin
Rand Paul
Steve Bannon
Donald Trump

Mostly those small (l)ibertarians from the west. Trump being the exception.

As for Roy Moore, I’ll stop bashing him because I believe it’s important he wins against the commie. But after the election I’ll come right back at him.

WMAL “news” saying Gillespie losing in two polls every hour.

NOVA 0bama bums haven’t been booted out of their federal government jobs yet, leaks are still everywhere, I suspect we will lose yet another governorship again. This state will stay Blue until we get rid of every federal government worker hired by the demrat party!

NOVA outvotes ROVA (rest of VA) every time.
Two terms of Trump may change things, I hope.

If Gillespie loses, it will be a national story that this was a “referendum on Donald Trump” and that Gillespie lost because of him and the establishment will use to bolster their negative attacks on Trump. If Gillespie wins, it won’t be a story at all, or it will be because of “special circumstances not related to the national political climate.”

No it won't. If Gillespie wins it will be heralded as only an Establishment candidate GOP hack can win. F*** the GOP. Gillespie IS the poster child for the GOP Establishment.

I can't back Trump's Nationalist agenda 100% and vote for him and turn around an vote for the GOP punk. It will make me physically ill and I probably couldn't make myself do it anyway.

Sitting this one out.

It's one four year term. We will get another primary in four years to get a non Establishment candidate. If Gillespie wins this year it will not make that argument any easier that we need a non GOP hack to run.

We already have multiple other examples to show that isn’t correct as to how the media would cover it.
