Casualties are not deaths. Historians have revised the military deaths upward to around 750,000.
Yeah, they have come up with higher numbers and they were indeed deaths, not all casualties (deaths are only part of casualties).
Still, it’s always informative to know up to that time or later, about half of deaths would be due to disease and injury (leading to disease or bleed-out, etc).
Lincoln was crazy. So were a lot of the people pushing him to war.
The hate that the north was full of, no doubt had to be media driven. Many communist aided Lincoln.
I think it might have been in the recent 2017 documentary on steven spielberg, where it covered his directorship of lincoln.
