Live Election Report From Virginia

Posted on 11/07/2017 10:38:40 AM PST by SarahPalin2012

I just voted in SW Virginia. Rural area, goes usually about 58-42 for the good guys (or at least the less-evil guys). More cars than usual for off year elections but no real wait inside. This was about noon. I'd guess that it was half of 2016 (Trump), and about equal to when Cuccinelli lost a very close race without any establishment help in 2013 to McAuliffe. Although the Dems have an edge in VA now, I still think it is very winnable for Republicans. My hope is that we pull out a win in a close election. For those conservatives sitting out because Gillespie is kind of gutless, I know you won't listen but it still needs to be said. You are not helping.

No, the rest of the state can’t because the democrat margin is so big in Northern Virginia. Don’t forget Richmond votes democrat and Tidewater is at best 50/50 anymore. The rural areas have to make up the entire deficit. That is a lot to ask.

It appears to have rained most of the day in northern Va today so that may help the (R).

“VA is DONE as a red state, and thank the GOP-e on the national level for allowing this to happen with their lack of border control and amnesty.”

And, if he loses, Gillespie can point his own finger at himself. Though not in the House or Senate to vote for lax/no immigration enforcement, he has been a party man who has been in bed with all the usual Republican suspects who long for amnesty and continued mass immigration. It may come back to bite him in his own backside tonight.

Could we please start going back to the future? It’s the liberal Dems that would rather be Red as in communist. Dem states used to be red, Blue is seen as a positive color and non communist therefore the progressives and propagandists have been changing the narrative for years- trying to make everything American/Conservative/Capitalist negative (red). These used to be republican values as well, perhaps with President Trump’s leadership the Republican Party can find its way home. Let’s take our country and colors back, and put the true color on the Dems/libs/progressives (Communist Red).

If MAGA parents had to get off work, go pick up their newly-registered-in-the-last-year MAGA kids to also vote....

Beware the paper ballots that the DEMs have stored in car trunks, waiting for the moment to submit them if the good guys get ahead. Sometimes ya can’t find voting machines in VA, so I hear.

The Dems in NoVA use early/absentee voting to pile up huge numbers prior to election day. They have a formidable GOTV machine. I worked as both a poll watcher and election officer in Fairfax County for over 30 years along with being active in local Rep politics. The Dems won Fairfax County in 2004 in the Presidential race, the first time they took the county in 40 years. Now they just amass bigger and bigger margins of victory in FC, along with Arlington County and the city of Alexandria. NoVA resembles SF or Philadelphia, not a southern state.

Gillespie can only win with a very low Dem turnout. I don't see that happening in NoVA. The Dem machine is just too powerful.

“It appears to have rained most of the day in northern Va today so that may help the (R).”

Maybe if it depressed the NoVA vote enough, some red diaper doper baby lawyer will go to the right red diaper doper baby judge to have the polls there reopened so they can get their voters who are just now getting up to pull the lever for Northam.

I hope Ed can squeak by tonight, especially in his home county, Fairfax County.
