Live Election Report From Virginia

Posted on 11/07/2017 10:38:40 AM PST by SarahPalin2012

I just voted in SW Virginia. Rural area, goes usually about 58-42 for the good guys (or at least the less-evil guys). More cars than usual for off year elections but no real wait inside. This was about noon. I'd guess that it was half of 2016 (Trump), and about equal to when Cuccinelli lost a very close race without any establishment help in 2013 to McAuliffe. Although the Dems have an edge in VA now, I still think it is very winnable for Republicans. My hope is that we pull out a win in a close election. For those conservatives sitting out because Gillespie is kind of gutless, I know you won't listen but it still needs to be said. You are not helping.

Considering how much the DNC/CPUSA party really needs this victory, I expect a lot of voter “shenanigans” by the marxists.

Rain falling steadily. Hopefully, it will suppress the vote in your neck of the woods. I wasn't going to vote (torn between the emotional urge to vote for R over D, and reason which says to sit it out, and let the establishment Republicans wither on the vine), but that ad put me over the top. Plus, Gillespie has been talking a decent game, at least.

I think you did the right thing.

You know if the D wins, it’s gonna be a total mandate for the anti-trumpsters , right? “See! See! Everyone hates him”!!

Pffffft

Loooosers all around

A cold rain is falling in NOVA this afternoon. The timing is perfect. It’s the first really cold unpleasant day of the season.

I'm in northern Virginia, too. They say this type of rain keeps everyone but the broken glass republicans home. So many voted ahead of time, though, difficult to fully gauge the impact the weather will have.

If Northam wins, this would be a great headline for tomorrow:

REPUBLICAN LOSES, PARTY WILL NEVER AGAIN RUN A RINO

I think you did the right thing.

I'm not convinced. There are two schools of thought, and both have merit, but I think that ultimately, Republicans who are actively hostile to middle America do more damage to this country than Democrats who are actively hostile to middle America (much as a single infiltrator is far more dangerous than a single front-line soldier). But, anyway, the point is moot -- after that ad (combined with the rest of Northam's campaign, and Gillespie tack away from the establishment), there was no way in the world I wasn't going to vote.

I voted around 12:30 in western Fairfax county. There was no line, and the clerk sais, “Slow, but steady.”

I’m concerned about the large increase in absentee ballots here in NoVa, with some areas, such as illegal alien central Manassas, doubling the previous ballot numbers.

From InsideNOVA (11/6/2017):

“Manassas City, in particular, registered a 243 percent increase in early ballots cast through Nov. 6 compared to the last gubernatorial election in 2013.”

“Manassas Park wasn’t far behind, recording a 236 percent bump over 2013’s numbers, the second largest increase statewide.”

“Prince William finished fourth in state with a 211 percent increase of its own, slightly behind Accomack County, the home of Democratic gubernatorial nominee Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam. In all, Prince William voters cast 13,191 absentee ballots, after sending in 6,252 in 2013. In sheer raw numbers, that’s the second highest absentee total in the state. Only Fairfax County recorded more absentee votes, with 41,751 ballots counted, up from 25,659 four years ago.”

There will always be RINOs. That’s why you got Romney after McCain. We also lost with Cuccinelli, who was a pretty good candidate.

Best way is to continue to elect the more conservative candidate. We’ll make it but it is not a sprint. At times we are hoping to at least go slow or to hold the place, but at least not go backwards.

I’ll be voting at my precinct in Gloucester County in a couple hours. Gloucester County is a very conservative location; I’ll try to get a count on the number of voters at the precinct and report back here on FR.

Bad weather in Va. That should help. Liberals are too lazy to go out in bad weather.

If, with 99% of the precincts reporting, Gillespie has a 75,000 or more vote lead, they might call it then.

Nope. That means Fairfax County's tabs are just getting underway, and Northam will win by 50K.

“Polls close at 7PM Eastern. So I guess returns start rolling in at 8 Eastern? “

Democrats will start figuring our how many votes they need about 9PM. At 10:30 PM, the votes from Democrat-heavy Northern Va, Norfolk and Richmond will come in.

yes thanks for all the reports. Are there any numbers released on turnout yet so far or just anecdotal evidence?

Demoralized Democrats and ticked-off Republicans this year. I like the odds.

That just means that they will cheat harder to win.
I hope the good guys are keeping an eye out for that over there.

People on Gillespie’s FB page are reporting poll workers illegally filling out absentee ballots.
His FB is constantly updating with most recent news.
