Democrats make significant gains in (VA) House of Delegates contests
Richmond Times Dispatch ^ | 7 Nov | Michael Martz

Democrats appeared poised to make huge gains in the Republican-controlled House of Delegates — and potentially take control of the chamber for the first time in 18 years — as strong voter turnout put a slew of GOP incumbents in danger of losing their seats.

The biggest upsets occurred early in Northern Virginia, where Democrat Danica Roem became the first transgender person elected to the House of Delegates, defeating social conservative Del. Robert G. Marshall, R-Prince William, and Democrat Lee Carter shocked House Republican Whip Jackson H. Miller, R-Manassas, despite tepid support from his own party.

Looks like as a VA resident I might actually have to pay attention to what is going on in Richmond. With the influx of Northeasterners and 3rd worlders into NoVa this state might never elect another GOPer statewide for a long time or the best we can hope for is some RINO squish.

Yeah, they’re not getting anything remotely controversial (gun control, sanctuary cities, etc.) I like to think it’ll just be gridlock until Republicans win again in 2019, which I imagine won’t be another Democratic wave year.

D.C. has been overflowing into and polluting VA for decades...

“No seat is safe if what happened in Virginia is replicated in 2018 nationwide.”

Might it have something to do with the sixty million mostly socialist immigrants who have moved here? They want their gibs.

How is this a surprise? Isn’t the area around DC chock-full of liberal government workers?

If the Democrats go from a 66 to 34 minority to 50 or more seats then that's more than just the D.C. area that they won.

Yesterday Detroit re-elected Mike Duggan, a white guy who won his first election as a write-in on the ballot.

The city is making quite the comeback.

Detroit doesn’t rule the state like it so often did in past decades.

Many people don’t know this and the dems won’t admit it:

(MI now has a republican president too)

MI has a conservative, republican backed State Supreme Court.

MI has a republican Governor.

MI has a republican Lieutenant Governor.

MI has a republican State Senate.

MI has a republican House of Representatives.

MI has a republican Attorney General.

MI has a republican Secretary of State.

MI has a republican congressional margin by a 2:1 ratio.

There is NO state democrat in office that has been elected state wide.

So there is always hope! (It just may take awhile)

If the current leaders all win, it’ll be 50-50 in the VA House of Delegates.

So then who breaks a tie?

The is because of a rise in government employees or dependents in Virginia. It’s harder to drain the swamp when the electorate is largely swamp dwellers.

Any bill or resolution that scores a 50-50 vote is defeated.

Let’s hope.

The HOD has been the backstop against going full libtard here in VA.

Not only that, think about how much it (Dem voter base) has expanded since 2008 due to hiring more government workers and illegal immigration.

I don’t get it either. Doom and gloom and our side and high fives from the same people that saw victory in SNL skits one year ago.

A blue states voting blue, why is this shocking. Virginia has shifted this way for the last 20 years, New Jersey’s been gone.

Ironic and funny how lefties celebrate as they slit their own wrist, and embrace their own demise. But also alarming as they and those inclined to follow suite don’t see where this is leading.

“And no, having DC in WI wouldn’t work. We’re not geographically centered.”

Maybe we could cram them all into, ‘The People’s Republik of Madistan?’ It’s already known as, ‘Twenty Square Miles, Surrounded By Reality.’

We’d at least have the ENEMY contained! ;)

Everything Democrats touch turns to shiite. Sorry to see this happen in historic VA. :(

Wisconsin has pulled herself up by the garters these past number of years after many years of Socialist Domination, Deep Debt and Union Corruption. Don’t give up ALL hope!
