JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A tearful Corrine Brown made her plea to the court Thursday afternoon, asking the judge to consider all she has done in her life and to show “mercy and compassion.”

Brown, 71, was convicted in May of 18 counts of conspiracy, fraud and filing false tax returns. She said those charges run contrary to everything she's ever done in her life, and that she considers her decades of public service an honor and a privilege.

They painted a vastly different picture of the woman prosecutors described as greedy and corrupt in their efforts to ensure Brown spends time behind bars.

One Brown supporter told Corrigan that for the lead prosecutor to describe Brown in such terms shows that “he doesn't know her.”

Supporters who said they do know Brown called her:

Let us be consistent.

If Bradley (chelsea) Manning got no prison sentence after running away in a war zone and getting people killed.....how can we send this batshit crazy woman to prison when all she ever did was steal from a children’s charity?

I mean.....COME ON PEOPLE!

You got your scumbags confused. Bergdahl was the deserter, Manning gave a bunch of classified info to Wikikeaks.

>> asking the judge to consider all she has done in her life

I hope the judge DOES consider all she has done in her life. That ought to put her away for 1000 years.
