Locking doors during service ought to be SOP for any church. What bugs me is how the content of the notes isn't being shared. I think it is crucial for the rest of us to know what potential triggers are being activated in this situation so we can learn. Makes me skeptical of the pastor. Is it a jealous husband or just a crack head on a mission?

Whatever it is, it is likely very local. Not much going on in Tofte except some drive-through tourism. Very small place.

"Boils down to either Antifa or Islam"
Or a radical atheist like in Texas.
To: PeteePie
They are ECLA Lutheran and many of those are New Age. So it might be a confused parishioner.

Yeah, not much up there. That's why my suspicions turn to some other person or situation within the congregation.

Just post a parishioner in the belfry with a rifle.

“Locking doors during service ought to be SOP for any church.”
Yup.
Jesus Himself said, Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
The church is full of sinners in need of a Savior. And those outside the walls of the church are no better. Bad people inside and out. In these times, it is prudent to protect churchgoers from harm, so that they may worship God in peace.
FWIW, this is what our church does:

We lock one set of doors during the service (portion of the building where the children are) and stand watch over the other which is just outside the sanctuary.
The church is talking about getting an emergency plan in place, but they are SLOW. One bossy person thinks the all the doors should be open all the time.

How can they be sure they’re not locking themselves in with the offender?

Doors locked? Anybody remember the church-burning scene in "The Patriot"?

Windows won't stop bullets. Opening the doors after service as people are crowded together trying to be the first out gives the shooter a nice target to swoop in on.
So, they're locking people out of the house of God.

They are ECLA Lutheran and many of those are New Age. Yes, that's the light-in-the-loafers "lutherans".

I’d like to see a video clip, where a rag-head with an AK-47 enters the church service from the back, and screams “Allah snackbar!”.
Before he can squeeze off a round, every member of the congregation, including the Preach, turns, draws their CCW and fires, all hitting their mark.

Pretty sure theyve updated locks since then. Most buildings are required to have fail safe systems that let you out without a key when the door is locked but dont allow anyone in.

Not trying to be snarky or sarcastic here - but isn’t the idea of church for people who have already have that need met, i.e. they’re already saved?
To: BenLurkin
Boils down to either Antifa or Islam More likely an inside job.
