It’s not about the baby (I have nothing whatsoever against the baby), it’s more a sense that he’s using him as a virtue-signaling prop.
He’s telling the liberals and the media that hate him: “Look what a great “tolerant” “inclusive” “conservative” I am. Please like me.”
Of course they end up hating him even more, and so to continue to ingratiate himself even more to the lame stream media he goes in their shows and pathetically rips into real conservatives.

Sadly, it’s gotten to the point where it’s almost impossible to be too cynical.
The nation (and the western world) is split more than ever between left and right. What’s left in the middle are rudderless useful idiots with no foundational world view to help them navigate these turbulent political waters, so they are simply buffeted back and forth by the latest blast of propaganda that hits them.
In this environment it is crucial for each one of us to examine and define our core beliefs and long term interests, and then choose sides based on those beliefs, and fight like hell to destroy the other side by whatever means at your disposal, because that’s exactly what the other side is trying to do to you.
We haven’t seen this type of cultural war since the cold War with the USSR, except that now that enemy is within our borders camouflaged as Americans.
This is a much tougher war to win.
