Thank you for providing the quote in context. A favorite activity of pious posers is quoting scripture out of context. In this instance, in context, we see God’s righteous wrath displayed as he condemns religious hypocrites who pretend to honor God, but are worshipping idols.
When people take a verse of scripture and apply it to a temporal thing like a passing news story - they trivialize it and rob it of its true power.
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Be careful of where you lean your hand, Mr. Comey, and I will do the same.
