Don’t ask me. Been in the news. Married couple, double personal deductions and higher 0% tax bracket equals first $40K free of tax...but the final bill is not done.

I heard one report the AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) was back in the Senate bill.
Anyone know if this is true?
I almost have a half dozen dependents.
Up until now the proposals showed my taxes going up by approx 3k due to loss of dependent exemptions.
They’ve now increased the child tax tax credit to $2k.
This temporarily swings tax liability back in our favor - until the children hit 18. At that point the tax bill increases nearly $3k per child that ages out.
This year I have a child aging out and I’ll lose his $1000 credit but will still have his exemption for 1 more year.

Me first? All day long. Even at my income, even without the ability to write off my super expensive healthcare (gee thanks Obama) it’s a big win. If you are making over $1 million with a 1099 and own several multi-million dollar homes in high tax California you will pay more. But most of those folks want higher taxes anyway so screw ‘em.
