To be perfectly honest, I don’t know how they could bring Ross back. Then again, the media has no shame.

I doubt if this was a “mistake”, it was most likely planned, knowing that most would actually believe what he said. It’s just like the media publicizing all the “hate-crimes” that turn out to be hoaxes. People will remember that it was announced that “candidate Trump” ordered Flynn to contact the Russians, and that is precisely what they wanted. Yeah, he’s “suspended” but will get his full pay, and then back on TV to spout more planned fake news, just a vacation.
WHAAAT!! He didn’t even *grope* anyone yet! :-P

As for litigation...
I believe this is a slippery slope and we need some sober thinking in the midst of our celebration. If the First Amendment doesn't protect Mr Ross or ABC from federal charges via the SEC, what is to stop some globalist entity from asking the SEC to investigate Breitbart or FR or any other new media outlet on the basis that their reporting (that's wasn't "deemed" 100% accurate) moved markets?
I am encouraged by the speed with which ABC took action - they are obviously scared, perhaps more about the reputational damage vs litigation. I am also encouraged by the court of public opinion so quickly condemning ABC et al. They may NEVER recover.
The First Amendment guarantee doesn't have a "truth" qualifier. The Leviathan we empower to go after ABC for speech or even a lie is the same Leviathan that can go after bloggers or website owners without deep pockets. It is early days...but.. I'm inclined to be happy with the scalp in our grasp and the #Fakenews tattoo now on ABC vs bring about a weakening of First Amendment protections that may not be able to control.
Soros will make up his lost pay.
But personally, I hope NBC keeps him on for the laugh factor.☺
